Frédéric Delcourt
Frédéric Delcourt (born February 14, 1964) is a French former competition swimmer and Olympic silver medalist. Delcourt was born in Nord, France. He competed in three events for France at the 1980 Summer Olympics in Moscow, Russia, including swimming the backstroke leg for the fifth-place French men's 4x100-meter medley relay team. Delcourt won the silver medal in the men's 200-meter backstroke event at the 1984 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles, California. Guillaume Delcourt
Guillaume Delcourt (31 March 1825 – 2 February 1898) was a Belgian Royal Navy officer, navigator, naval engineer and maritime advisor to King Leopold II who was one of the major players of early Belgian expansion around the world. Early life and family Guillaume Delcourt's parents died young, leaving him an orphan as a child. His mother was Barbara Wittouck, who died in Brussels on 17 June 1830, and was daughter of the jurisconsult Guillaume Wittouck after whom Delcourt was named. His father Napoleon Joseph Delcourt, a brewer born in Ath, was injured while fighting for the Belgian Revolution in 1830 and died three years later in Antwerp on 30 July 1833. After the death of his parents, he was raised by his mother's sister, Jeanne Wittouck, and her husband, Jean-Louis Van Dievoet, Secretary of the Court of Cassation. Guy Delcourt (born 27 March 1958) is a French editor, founder of the Delcourt publishing house in 1986. It has since grown into one of the largest publishers of comics in France. In November 2006, he received the rank of , awarded by the President of the Republic Jacques Chirac, as proposed by the Minister of Culture, Renaud Donnedieu de Vabres. The company grew from publishing three titles in 1986, to over 200 in 2006. With over 1200 titles by the end 2005, Delcourt's success has not been based on the popularity of a single series. Jacques Delcourt (August 21, 1928 – November 11, 2011) was a prominent Sports administrator who was instrumental in creating the European Karate Union which later became the European Karate Federation and this in turn inspired the creation of the World Union of Karate Organisations that became the World Karate Federation. He was highly decorated by the French Government, including the award of Officer of the Legion of Honour. Marie Delcourt (Ixelles, 18 November 1891 – Liège, 11 February 1979) was a Belgian classical philologist. She studied at the University of Liège (ULg), and obtained a PhD in classical philology in 1919. Under the German occupation of Belgium during World War I she was active in the Dame Blanche (resistance), Dame Blanche resistance network. She was the first female part-time lecturer at the ULg. An expert in the history of the Religion in ancient Greece, ancient Greek religion, Marie Delcourt was particularly interested in the psychological dimension of religious facts.
