Delaware Department Of Natural Resources And Environmental Control
The Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control (DNREC) of the state of Delaware is the primary body concerned with the governance of public land, natural resources, and environmental regulations for the state. DNREC is composed of several Divisions that have correlates in other U.S. State governments: * Division of Air and Waste Management * Division of Fish and Wildlife * Division of Parks and Recreation * Division of Soil and Water Conservation * Division of Water Resources The Department is headed by an 'Office of the Secretary'. ''The News Journal'' is the main newspaper for Wilmington, Delaware, and the surrounding area. List Of Delaware State Parks
The U.S. state of Delaware has 17 state parks, as of 2008. Each of the parks is operated and maintained by the Delaware Division of Parks and Recreation, a branch of the Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control (DNREC), although one state park, First State Heritage Park, is managed by the Division of Parks and Recreation in partnership with other city and state agencies. The Delaware Geological Survey (DGS) is a scientific agency for the State of Delaware, located at the University of Delaware (UD) which conducts geologic and hydrologic research, service, and exploration.
