Dejan Udovičić
Dejan Udovičić ( sr-cyrl, Дејан Удовичић; born 26 July 1970) is a Serbian professional water polo head coach. He was named head coach for Serbia in June 2006, after the dissolution of the state union of Serbia and Montenegro. As a senior, he played for Partizan Belgrade and VK Beograd, while his coaching career started with Partizan where he stayed for nine seasons (2000-2009). His most notable achievement with the club was third place at the 2007 Euroleague Final Four in Milan. As the head coach of the Serbian national team, he has won gold medals at the 2009 World Aquatics Championships and the 2006 Men's European Water Polo Championship, as well as the 2012 Men's European Water Polo Championship. He has also steered the national team to a bronze medal at the 2008 Olympics in Beijing. Water Polo
Water polo is a competitive team sport played in water between two teams of seven players each. The game consists of four quarters in which the teams attempt to score goals by throwing the ball into the opposing team's goal. The team with the most goals at the end of the game wins the match. Each team is made up of six field players and one goalkeeper. Excluding the goalkeeper, players participate in both offensive and defensive roles. It is typically played in an all-deep pool where players cannot touch the bottom. A game consists mainly of the players swimming to move about the pool, treading water (mainly using the eggbeater kick), passing the ball, and shooting at the goal. Water Polo At The 2019 Pan American Games
Water polo competitions at the 2019 Pan American Games in Lima, Peru were held from July 28 to August 10. The venue for the competition was the water polo pool located at the Villa María del Triunfo cluster. A total of eight men's and eight women's teams (each consisting up to 11 athletes) competed in each tournament. This meant a total of 176 athletes were scheduled to compete. Water polo competitions at the 2015 Pan American Games in Toronto was held from July 7 to 15 at the Markham Pan Am Centre in Markham, Ontario, Markham. The water polo competitions was the first sporting event to be conducted at the games, beginning three days before the 2015 Pan American Games opening ceremony, opening ceremony. This is because the Pan American Games were scheduled to be held roughly around the same time as the 2015 World Aquatics Championships scheduled for Kazan, Russia, thus the competition was moved forward to allow for a sufficient gap between the two events. The 14th edition of the Men's FINA Water Polo World Cup was held in Oradea, Romania from July 27 to August 1, 2010. Format 8 teams qualified for the 2010 FINA World Cup.
