Dejan Jakovic
Dejan Jakovic ( sr-Cyrl, Дејан Јаковић, ; born 16 July 1985) is a Canadian association football, soccer player who plays as a Defender (association football)#Centre-back, centre-back for the Serbian White Eagles FC, Serbian White Eagles. Internationally, he represented the Canada men's national soccer team, Canada national team from 2008 to 2018. Early life and career Born in Karlovac, Socialist Republic of Croatia, SR Croatia prior to the Breakup of Yugoslavia, breakup of Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia, Yugoslavia, Jakovic was brought by his parents to Canada at the age of six following the outbreak of Croatian War of Independence, war in 1991. Serbian White Eagles FC
Serbian White Eagles Football Club ( sr, Фудбалски клуб Српски бели орлови / ''Fudbalski klub Srpski beli orlovi'') is a Canadian soccer team. The team is a member of the Canadian Soccer League, an unsanctioned soccer league. The team's home kit is all white commemorating the white double-headed eagle which appears on the Serbian flag while the away colours are red-blue-white commemorating the tricolour of the Serbian flag. The colour white was also chosen as it symbolizes purity and innocence. The club also has teams in the Canadian Soccer League Reserve Division and the Ontario Soccer League. The club was established in 1968 under the name Hamilton Serbia and joined the professional ranks in 1970 by becoming a member in the National Soccer League, eventually relocating to Toronto and becoming the Serbian White Eagles. The Croatian War of Independence was fought from 1991 to 1995 between Croat forces loyal to the Government of Croatia—which had declared independence from the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia (SFRY)—and the Serb-controlled Yugoslav People's Army (JNA) and local Serb forces, with the JNA ending its combat operations in Croatia by 1992. Zdeněk Zeman
Zdeněk Zeman (; born 12 May 1947) is a Czech-Italian football coach. Known for his exciting, offensive footballing tactics and use of the 4–3–3 formation, Zeman has managed numerous teams over the years, mostly in Italian football. He has won the Serie B title twice, with Foggia and with Pescara. Career Early years Zeman's football coaching career started in Sicily, where he resided since the late 1960s.
