Deirdre Hargey
Deirdre Hargey is an Irish Sinn Féin politician and former Department for Communities, Minister for Communities within the Northern Ireland Executive, and a former List of mayors of Belfast, Lord Mayor of Belfast. Hargey was Co-option, co-opted to the Northern Ireland Assembly in 2020 to replace Máirtín Ó Muilleoir. She was appointed as Minister for Communities at the formation of the 6th Executive on 11 January 2020. On 15 June 2020, Carál Ní Chuilín replaced her as minister on a temporary basis, due to Hargey's ill health. The Department for Communities (DfC, Irish: ''An Roinn Pobal'', Ulster Scots: ''Depairtment fur Commonities'') is a devolved Northern Ireland government department in the Northern Ireland Executive. The minister with overall responsibility for the department is the Minister for Communities. The department was previously created in May 2016 following the Fresh Start Agreement and the dissolution of several departments, such as the Department for Social Development, the Department of the Environment, the Department of Culture, Arts and Leisure and the Department for Employment and Learning from which several functions have amalgamated. John Finucane (born 1980) is an Irish lawyer, footballer, and Sinn Féin politician. He has been the Member of Parliament (MP) for the Belfast North constituency of the House of Commons of the United Kingdom since the 2019 general election. Early life Finucane is the son of the Irish lawyer Pat Finucane, who was murdered in 1989 at his family home by loyalist paramilitaries, a murder that BBC News called "one of the most controversial killings during The Troubles".
