Deham
''Deham'' (The Body) is a 2001 film directed by Govind Nihalani based on playwright Manjula Padmanabhan's play ''Harvest''. It has Kitu Gidwani, Joy Sengupta, Alyy Khan, Surekha Sikri and Julie Ames in lead roles. It is a futuristic story depicting the organ sale from relatively poorer countries to the rich. Nihalani himself called it a "serious social sci-fi film". ''Deham'' won the prestigious Netpac (Network for Promotion of Asian Cinema) award for the Best Asian Film at the 25th Goteborg Film Festival, 2002, in Sweden. Plot It's 2022. Joy Sengupta
Joy Sengupta (born 14 December 1968) is an Indian film and stage actor works Bollywood cinema and Bengali cinema as well as theatre. He is best known for his debut feature, ''Hazaar Chaurasi Ki Maa'' (1998) directed by Govind Nihalani. Sengupta was born in Kolkata, and grew up in Delhi and Nepal. He did his graduation in English literature from Delhi University, During this period he joined Jana Natya Manch, a theatre group based in Delhi. Thereafter received a Diploma in Drama from the Living Theatre Academy, New Delhi, where he studied under Ebrahim Alkazi. Kaushalya "Kitu" Gidwani is an Indian actress and model. She has starred in several movies and serials on Indian television. Govind Nihalani (born 19 December 1940) is an Indian film director, cinematographer, screenwriter and producer, known for his works in Hindi cinema. He has been the recipient of six National Film Awards, and five Bollywood Filmfare Awards. Surekha Sikri (19 April 1945 16 July 2021) was an Indian theatre, film and television actress. Sikri received several awards, including three National Film Awards and a Filmfare Award. Manjula Padmanabhan (born 23 June 1953) is an Indian playwright, journalist, comic strip artist, and children's book author. Her works explore science, technology, gender, and international inequalities. Life Padmanabhan was born in Delhi in 1953 to an Indian diplomat father. She was raised in Sweden, Pakistan, and Thailand. She was an avid reader of comics and cartoons, and often drew and wrote as a child.
