Defensor Arica
Defensor Arica was a Peruvian football club based in Breña, Lima. The club was founded in 1929 and reached the Peruvian Second Division in 1947. They were subsequently promoted to the first division in 1964. Their greatest achievement was second place in the national league in 1969 and consequently in 1970 they played in the Copa Libertadores. Two years later Defensor Arica were relegated. The Copa Perú is very large involving several stages and leagues within it. In addition, the Copa Perú is played within a year. Liga Deportiva Universitaria (), often referred to as Liga de Quito, LDU, is an Ecuadorian professional football club based in Quito. Club Universitario de Deportes, popularly known as Universitario or simply as La "U", is a Peruvian football club located in Lima. The club was founded in 1924 under the name Federación Universitaria by students of the National University of San Marcos but was forced to rename in 1931. Since 1928, the club competes in the top tier of Peruvian football, the Peruvian Primera División, Torneo Descentralizado. Copa Libertadores
The CONMEBOL Libertadores, also known as the Copa Libertadores de América ( pt, Copa Libertadores da América), is an annual international club football competition organized by CONMEBOL since 1960. It is the highest level of competition in South American club football. The tournament is named after the ''Libertadores'' (Spanish and Portuguese for ''liberators''), the leaders of the Latin American wars of independence, so a literal translation of its former name into English is "''America's Liberators Cup''". The competition has had several formats over its lifetime. Initially, only the champions of the South American leagues participated. Estadio Nacional (Lima)
The National Stadium of Peru is a multi-purpose stadium located in Lima, Peru. Its current capacity is 40,086 seats as stated by the Peruvian Football Federation without the lodges for some thousands more. The stadium was first inaugurated on 27 October 1952 for the 1953 South American Championship—replacing the Stadium Nacional—and is Peru's principal and national stadium. It has hosted three of the six South American Championship/Copa América football competitions held in Peru. It is referred to as the Coloso de José Díaz because of its proximity to a street of the same name. It is the home ground of the Peru national football team. 1969 Torneo Descentralizado
The 1969 Torneo Descentralizado was the 53rd season of the highest division of Peruvian football. Despite being relegated at the end of the 1968 season, Carlos A. Mannucci returned to the first division through the 1969 Copa Perú. The format of the season changed from the previous season. The season was divided into two phases. In the first phase, the fourteen teams played each other once. In the second phase, the teams were divided into two groups. Teams in first to sixth place were grouped into a championship group while teams in seventh to fourteenth place were grouped into a relegation group. All teams carried their records from the first phase into the second phase. Universitario was crowned champion. Centro Iqueño and KDT Nacional were relegated.
