Defence SA Advisory Board
The Defence SA Advisory Board provides high-level strategic and policy advice to the Government of South Australia "to promote the growth of Defence and defence industries in accordance with South Australia’s Strategic Plan." Air Chief Marshal Sir Angas Houston AK AFC was appointed to chair the board in 2014, replacing General Peter Cosgrove AC MC in the position. The board was established in 2007 and meets six times a year. The board was preceded by the Defence Industry Advisory Board (DIAB), which was established in 2003. Jack Snelling
John James "Jack" Snelling (born 8 November 1972) is a former Australian politician. He was the Labor member for the South Australian House of Assembly seat of Playford from the 1997 election until his retirement in 2018. Snelling left the Labor Party in 2021 to found the Family First Party. Background Prior to his election into politics, Snelling was an electoral officer, and a staffer in the Shop, Distributive and Allied Employees Association (SDA). Mike Rann
Michael David Rann, , (born 5 January 1953) is an Australian former politician who was the 44th premier of South Australia from 2002 to 2011. He was later Australian High Commissioner to the United Kingdom from 2013 to 2014, and Australian ambassador to Italy, Albania, Libya and San Marino from 2014 to 2016. Rann grew up in the United Kingdom and New Zealand, completing a Bachelor and Master of Arts in political science at the University of Auckland. Kevin Foley (South Australian Politician)
Kevin Owen Foley (born 25 September 1960) is a former South Australian politician who served as 11th Deputy Premier of South Australia and additionally Treasurer of South Australia in the Rann Government from 2002 to 2011 for the South Australian Branch of the Australian Labor Party. Andrew Vernon Fletcher is a South Australian engineer and defence industry businessman, best known for his role as chief executive officer of Defence SA. In May 2015 he was appointed CEO of Rheinmetall Defence Australia. Career Fletcher began a career in engineering in 1970 in Adelaide with Kinnaird Hill deRohan and Young. Air Chief Marshal Sir Allan Grant "Angus" Houston, (born 9 June 1947) is a retired senior officer of the Royal Australian Air Force. He served as Chief of Air Force from 20 June 2001 and then as the Chief of the Defence Force from 4 July 2005. He retired from the military on 3 July 2011. Since then Houston has been appointed to a number of positions, including chairman of Airservices Australia. Jay Wilson Weatherill (born 3 April 1964) is an Australian politician who was the 45th Premier of South Australia, serving from 21 October 2011 until 19 March 2018. Weatherill represented the House of Assembly seat of Cheltenham as a member of the South Australian Labor Party from the 2002 election to 17 December 2018, when he retired.
