Deep In The Wood
''Deep in the Wood'' ( it, In fondo al bosco ) is a 2015 thriller-drama film written and directed by Stefano Lodovichi and starring Filippo Nigro and Camilla Filippi. Plot When a boy reappears after five long years, his father welcomes him back with open arms, but the mother has eerie suspicions that he is not her son. The maternal grandfather does not think he is his grandson either and the family dog kept barking every time it saw the boy. The plot starts to unfold. The town has an annual festival where the adults dress up as devils, some believe the real devil is among them. When the son disappears, the father is accused of killing him but they never find the body of the boy. It turns out that during the festival, the boy witnessed some teenagers making out in a cabin and when he ran away into the forest, one of them chased after him and accidentally knocked him unconscious. Stefano Lodovichi
Stefano Lodovichi (born 31 August 1983) is an Italian film director and screenwriter. Career He started his career directing short-films and music videos, and collaborating as assistant director with Carlo Virzì, Francesco Falaschi and Rolando Colla. His first feature film '' Aquadro'', a Rai Cinema co-production, was released in 2013. Lodovichi wrote and directed the Sky Cinema thriller film ''Deep in the Wood'', released in theatres on 19 November 2015. His other works include Rai 2 crime series '' Cacciatore: The Hunter'' (2018) and Mediaset courtroom drama ''The Trial'' (2019). In 2019 he married actress Camilla Filippi. Filippo Nigro (born 3 December 1970) is an Italian actor. Life and career Born in Rome, Nigro studied at the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia under Lina Wertmüller. After a minor role in the 2001 Ferzan Ozpetek's drama film '' The Ignorant Fairies'' and several television works, in 2003 Nigro had his breakout role as Filippo, the Giovanna Mezzogiorno's husband in Ozpetek's ''Facing Windows''. In 2004 he was appointed Shooting Star at the Berlin International Film Festival. Life and career Born in Brescia, Filippi started her career, when she was a teenager, appearing in a series of Barilla commercials.
