Deep South (Josh Turner Album)
''Deep South'' is the sixth studio album by American country music artist Josh Turner. It was released on March 10, 2017, through MCA Nashville. The album's lead single, "Lay Low", was released to radio on September 15, 2014, and reached number 25 on the Country Airplay chart. The second single, " Hometown Girl", was released to radio on May 31, 2016. The single peaked at No. 2 on ''Billboard''s Country Airplay Chart and No. 1 on Mediabase, making it Turner's fifth No. 1 single. The third single, "All About You" was released to radio on May 15, 2017. It is Turner's first release since 2012's ''Punching Bag''. Critical reception AllMusic reviewer Stephen Thomas Erlewine wrote that "Turner doesn't attempt to chase trends, choosing instead to lean into his knack for supple balladry and then build a mature modern country around that sound." Joshua Otis Turner (born November 20, 1977) is an American country and gospel singer and songwriter. In 2003, he signed to MCA Nashville Records. That same year, his debut album's title track, "Long Black Train", was his breakthrough single release. His second album, '' Your Man'' (2006) accounted for his first two number-one hits: " Your Man" and "Would You Go with Me", while 2007's '' Everything Is Fine'' included a No. 2 in "Firecracker". Al Anderson (NRBQ)
Alan Gordon Anderson (born July 26, 1947) is an American guitarist, singer, and songwriter. In the 1960s, Anderson was the frontman of the band The Wildweeds, which had success with the song "No Good To Cry", which he wrote. Between 1971 and the early 1990s, he was the lead guitarist in the rock band NRBQ, also releasing several solo albums. He also played electric guitar on Jonathan Edwards's 1973 album '' Have a Good Time for Me''. Eric A. Darken is an American percussionist, composer, and programmer. Biography Drawing inspiration from his grandfather, a band leader. Darken began playing drums at age 12, and played timpani and mallets in high school. Chad Cromwell (born June 14, 1957) is an American rock drummer whose music career has spanned more than 30 years. He is the founding member of a band called Fortunate Sons, which released a self-titled album in 2004. Cromwell has worked with multiple prominent artists from various genres, including Neil Young, Mark Knopfler, Joe Walsh, Joss Stone, Bonnie Raitt, and Crosby, Stills, and Nash. Ho'okena is a Hawaiian music trio which consist of the members Horace K. Dudoit, Chris Kamaka and Glen Smith. The group was created in 1986 and remains one of the longest lasting Hawaiian music groups. Ho'okena has been nominated for the Grammy Awards three times and has won multiple Na Hoku Hanohano Awards.
