''Deep Duck Trouble Starring Donald Duck'', released in Japan as , is a Sega Master System and Game Gear video game originally released in 1993. It is a Disney-licensed game developed by Sega. Gameplay This game is a platform game reminiscent of ''Castle of Illusion Starring Mickey Mouse'', as both have similar gameplay elements. Donald's chief means of attack are kicking blocks (some of which contain diamonds or ice cream cones) and consuming chili peppers, which temporarily enable Donald to plow through all enemies at high speed. The player can choose map locations to begin the game. If a player loses three lives, the game is over. Plot Donald Duck is beckoned by his uncle Scrooge McDuck from a curse which has puffed him up into a floating balloon. ''Castle of Illusion Starring Mickey Mouse'' is a 1990 platform game developed by Sega and released for the Mega Drive/Genesis. An 8-bit version of the game was later released for the Master System and Game Gear. The game follows Mickey Mouse on a quest to save Minnie Mouse from the evil witch Mizrabel. It is the first game in Sega's ''Illusion'' video game series starring Mickey. ''Castle of Illusion'' was very well received by critics, especially the original 16-bit version. It was re-released in 1998 in Japan as part of ''Sega Ages: Mickey Mouse & Donald Duck'' for the Sega Saturn, which features both ''Castle of Illusion'' and ''QuackShot''. The Master System—renamed and with a redesigned casing from the original Sega Mark III, which had been released in the Japanese market in 1985—is a video game console released by Sega in the North American market in June 1986 to compete with the Nintendo Entertainment System, which had been released in the same market in February 1986 (an earlier test market for NES in New York and California occurred in October 1985).
