''Dee Does Broadway'' is the second album by Dee Snider, the frontman of Twisted Sister, after 12 years without any release. It was produced by Snider, Patti LuPone and Bebe Neuwirth. Guests in the album include the Grammy and Emmy Award-winning Cyndi Lauper, Clay Aiken and Nick Adams. Background The original idea started in 2009 with an exchange of phone messages between Alice Cooper and Snider. Over several years, both had worked with the guitarist and producer Bob Kulick on his various "tribute" albums (Snider sang on a Cooper tribute record) and had both been impressed with the quality of his work. In fall 2010, Snider was starring in the hit Broadway musical ''Rock of Ages''. ''A Twisted Christmas'' is the sixth and final studio album by American heavy metal group Twisted Sister, with the band releasing it on October 17, 2006. The album features classic Christmas songs performed in metal versions, often featuring lyrical changes. Holiday carol "Oh Come All Ye Faithful", which heavily inspired the band's popular song " We're Not Gonna Take It", is recorded in a style exactly like the Twisted Sister hit. The group's take on the carol has become one of their most well-known songs since their 1980s heyday, with Twisted Sister creating a comedic music video involving the band members crashing a holiday celebration in a bickering couple's home. "Somewhere", sometimes referred to as "Somewhere (There's a Place for Us)" or simply "There's a Place for Us", is a song from the 1957 Broadway musical ''West Side Story'' that was made into films in 1961 and 2021. The music is composed by Leonard Bernstein with lyrics by Stephen Sondheim. In West Side Story Stage musical In the stage musical, the song appears in the second act of the show during the Somewhere Ballet. It is performed by an off-stage soprano singer and is later reprised by the entire company. In the original Broadway production, "Somewhere" was sung by Reri Grist who played the role of Consuelo. At the end of the show, when Tony is shot, Maria sings the first few lines of the song as he dies in her arms. William Swenson (born October 26, 1972) is an American actor and singer best known for his work in musical theatre. He also has developed a film career, primarily in LDS cinema. Early life Swenson was born in Provo, Utah, Provo, Utah. Two of his grandparents, James Nathan Hale and Ruth Hale (playwright and actress), Ruth Hale, were playwrights; Ruth was also an actor. Swenson moved throughout the United States during his childhood. Jesse Blaze Snider (born September 19, 1982) is an American comic book writer, voice-over actor, TV and radio host, and rock musician. Mark Winthrop Wood is an American electric violinist and the founder of Wood Violins, a company that makes electric violins. His educational program has been featured on news programs nationwide. He is also an Emmy-winning composer and a former member of the Trans-Siberian Orchestra. Career Education Mark Wood studied under Dr. Richard Rusack at Paul D. Schreiber High School in Port Washington, New York, before beginning his career with a full scholarship at the Juilliard School in New York and studied viola under William Lincer until he left. Phil Carson
Phil Carson is an English former record label owner and London-based Senior Vice President of Atlantic Records from 1968 to 1985. He is known for his association several rock bands, including Led Zeppelin, Yes, AC/DC, and Twisted Sister. Born in London, he was playing bass guitar in a school band eventually being tapped to play bass for Dusty Springfield. Gravitating toward the business side of music, Carson started at Swedish record label Olga Records. Nesuhi Ertegun hired Carson to run Atlantic in the UK. He cites the Ertegun brothers as mentors, particularly Ahmet, eventually co-producing the Honey Drippers album with Ahmet Ertegun.
