''Dedé Mamata'' is a 1987 Brazilian drama film directed by Rodolfo Brandão and starring Guilherme Fontes. The film was entered into the main competition at the 45th edition of the Venice Film Festival. It also won the awards for Best Supporting Actor (Marcos Palmeira) and Best Supporting Actress (Iara Jamraat) at the 1988 Gramado Film Festival. Paulo Sérgio Betti (born 8 September 1952) is a Brazilian actor, playwright, and stage director. He also works occasionally as film producer and director. Biography Paulo Sérgio Betti was born on 8 September 1952 in Rafard, a small town in the state of São Paulo. In over thirty years of career, Betti has acted in over 20 ''telenovelas'' and in 21 feature films. His most notable role was as the revolutionary Captain Carlos Lamarca in '' Lamarca'' (1994) and ''Zuzu Angel'' (2006), both directed by Sérgio Rezende. For his role in ''Lamarca'', he won the São Paulo Association of Art Critics Award for Best Film Actor in 1995. Thelma Reston
Thelma Salim Reston (6 July 1937 – 20 December 2012) was a Brazilian film, theater, and television actress. Thelma Reston was born in Piracanjuba, Goiás. She began a theater career in the 1960s and work in television in the 1970s. Reston's earlier filmography includes the 1967 film ''Entranced Earth'' and the 1984 film ''Quilombo''. She also took part in the 1992 telenovela '' Pedra sobre Pedra''. Her most recent television credits included ''A Lua Me Disse'' in 2005, ''Negócio da China'' in 2009, and ''Escrito nas Estrelas'' in 2010. Reston's last role was on the TV Globo telenovela, ''Aquele Beijo''. Reston died in São Lucas Hospital in Rio de Janeiro on 20 December 2012, at the age 75. She had been diagnosed with breast cancer in 2009.
