Dedric Lawson
Dedric Lawson (born October 1, 1997) is an American professional basketball player who last played for the Beşiktaş Icrypex of the Basketbol Süper Ligi (BSL). He played college basketball for the Memphis Tigers and the Kansas Jayhawks. High school career Lawson attended Hamilton High School in Memphis, Tennessee alongside his older brother K. J. Lawson. As a freshman he averaged, 20.8 points, 13.4 rebounds, and 2.6 blocks per game. As a sophomore in 2013-14, Lawson averaged 16.7 points, 12.3 rebounds and 3.1 blocks per game. On September 11, 2014, Lawson reclassified from the class of 2016 to the class of 2015 so he could join K.J. at Memphis. As a senior, Lawson averaged 21.9 points, 15.4 rebounds, 3.2 blocks and 2.1 assists per game. Dedric was soon selected to both Jordan Brand Classic and 2015 McDonald's All-American Boys Game. The 2015 McDonald's All-American Boys Game is an All-star basketball game that was played on April 1, 2015, at the United Center in Chicago, home of the Chicago Bulls. The Jordan Brand Classic is a high school All-Star basketball game played annually in April. The game's rosters feature the best and most highly recruited high school boys in the senior class including alumns like Chris Paul, Carmelo Anthony, Blake Griffin, Kyrie Irving, LeBron James, Kevin Durant, Anthony Davis, Jayson Tatum and Zion Williamson. In education in the United States, reclassification or reclassing is the assignment of a student's high school (secondary school) graduation class to either a year earlier or later than their original. For young athletes, graduating a year earlier frees them to start their college sports career, with the hope of playing professionally sooner.
