Dedicated To The One I Love (album)
''Dedicated to the One I Love'' is an album of rock classics reinterpreted as children's lullabies by American singer, songwriter and producer Linda Ronstadt. Released in mid-1996, it reached No. 78 and lasted three months on the main ''Billboard'' album chart. It also earned the singer a new career distinction when it hit #1 on the Top Kid Audio chart. It was awarded a 1997 Grammy Award. The album includes vocal contributions from long-time collaborators Aaron Neville who duets on Brahms' Lullaby and Valerie Carter who provides harmony vocals on most tracks. This album was reissued on Rhino's Flashback Records label in 2009. It is now out of print. Linda Maria Ronstadt (born July 15, 1946) is a retired American singer who performed and recorded in diverse genres including rock, country, light opera, the Great American Songbook, and Latin. She has earned 11 Grammy Awards, three American Music Awards, two Academy of Country Music awards, an Emmy Award, and an ALMA Award. Many of her albums have been certified gold, platinum or multiplatinum in the United States and internationally. She has also earned nominations for a Tony Award and a Golden Globe award. Gary Lee Usher (December 14, 1938 – May 25, 1990) was an American rock musician, songwriter, and record producer, who worked with numerous California acts in the 1960s, including the Byrds, the Beach Boys, and Dick Dale. Usher also produced fictitious surf groups or hot rod groups, mixing studio session musicians with his own troops (Chuck Girard, Dick Burns and others). These bands included the Super-Stocks, with the hot-rod song "Midnight Run", and the Kickstands. The "5" Royales was an American rhythm and blues (R&B) vocal group from Winston-Salem, North Carolina, United States, that combined gospel, jump blues and doo-wop, marking an early and influential step in the evolution of rock and roll.
