Declan Nerney
Declan Nerney (born c. 1959) is an Irish singer-songwriter. Born in Drumlish, County Longford, he started at the age of 16 in a local band, "The Hi-Lows". His big break came with his autobiographical song "''The Marquee in Drumlish''". His early education was at the Ennybegs National School in Longford. Later he attended St Mel's College, Longford, where he sat his Leaving Certificate. He was brought up on a small farm and has a passion for vintage tractors. His niece, Una Healy, was a member of the band The Saturdays. Drumlish
Drumlish () is a village in County Longford, Ireland on the R198 regional road north of Longford Town. History Evidence of ancient settlement in the area includes a number of ringfort sites in Drumlish and its surrounding townlands. The remains of a portal tomb, known as the Melkagh Dolmen, lie approximately 2 km north of the village. In 1621, King James I granted Sir George Calvert two tracts of land in the plantation of Longford, one around "Ulfeed" (now Elfeet near Newtowncashel) and the other around "Dromlish" (corresponding to the modern townlands of Drumlish, Barragh Beg, Barragh More, Derawley, Greagh, Cartrongolan, Oghil, and Enybegs). The tracts comprised the manor of Ulfeed with Calvert as lord of the manor. In 1625 the Drumlish tract was separated from Ulfeed into the manor of Baltimore, and Calvert was promoted to the Peerage of Ireland, taking the title Baron Baltimore after the manor. Sir Vincent Arthur Henry McMahon (28 November 1862 – 29 December 1949) was a British Indian Army officer and diplomat who served as the High Commissioner in Egypt from 1915 to 1917. He was also an administrator in British India and served twice as Chief Commissioner of Baluchistan. McMahon is best known for the McMahon-Hussein Correspondence with Hussein bin Ali, Sharif of Mecca, the McMahon Line between Tibet and India, and the Declaration to the Seven in response to a memorandum written by seven notable Syrians. Eugene Stewart (1944 – 11 February 2016) known professionally as Gene Stuart, was an Irish country music singer, born in County Tyrone, in Northern Ireland. Career Stuart's first found success when Larry Cunningham left the Mighty Avons showband in 1969, after auditioning he landed the role of lead singer. After charting in Ireland on many occasions he later left the Mighty Avons in 1974 to form his own band – The Homesteaders. Prior to finding fame, Stuart worked as a brick-layer and as a photographer with the Dungannon Observer newspaper. The Saturdays
The Saturdays were a British-Irish girl group based in London, England. The group formed during the summer of 2007 and have been on hiatus since 2014. The lineup consists of Frankie Bridge, Una Healy, Rochelle Humes, Mollie King, and Vanessa White. They were formed through Fascination Records, a sub-division of Polydor Records, who gave them an instant record deal with the label. As soon as the contract was finalised, the Saturdays went on tour with Girls Aloud during their Tangled Up Tour.
