Lewis Allen (25 December 1905 – 3 May 2000) was a British-born director whose credits included classic television series and a diverse range of films. Allen worked mainly in the United States, working on Broadway theatre, Broadway and directing 18 feature films between 1944 and 1959. From the mid-1950s he moved increasingly into television and worked on a number of the most popular shows of the time in the US. Career Allen was born in the small Shropshire town of Oakengates and attended Tettendan Hall in Staffordshire. Donald Bruce Simpson (December 13, 1942 – April 5, 2020) was a librarian who served as the third president of the Center for Research Libraries (CRL) from 1980-1999. Prior to coming to CRL he worked as Executive Director at the Bibliographical Center for Research in Denver, Colorado from 1975-1980. During that time, he compiled and edited the fourth volume of ''The state library agencies: a survey project report'', in 1979. Rudolph Anders (December 17, 1895 – March 27, 1987) was a German character actor who came to the United States after the rise of Hitler, and appeared in numerous American films in the 1940s, 1950s, and 1960s. Biography He was born Rudolf Franz Amendt in Waldkirch, Baden, Germany. In the United States during the 1940s, he used the stage name of Robert O. Davis, and after the War used the name Rudolph Anders. His German-accented English confined him largely to "accent roles", and during World War II to villain parts, although not leading roles as his small build, wide eyes, soft voice and naturally quiet demeanor did not allow him to appear overly menacing. He was naturalized an American citizen in 1934, and was married. Anders died in Woodland Hills, Los Angeles, California.
