Deborah Kaplan (born November 11, 1970) is an American screenwriter and film director. Early life Deborah Kaplan was born and raised in Abington, Pennsylvania. Born to Susan Kaplan. She went to Abington Senior High School, which is the school her movie ''Can’t Hardly Wait'' is based on. Kaplan attended the Tisch School of the Arts of New York University (NYU). While there she met her creative partner Harry Elfont. Joshua Sternin is an American television writer, television producer, and screenwriter. He is the oldest son of Alan Sternin and Esther Sternin, and married to actress/performer Paige Scurti Sternin. Jack Epps Jr. (born November 3, 1949) is an American screenwriter, author, and educator, known chiefly for such popular 1980s films as ''Top Gun'', ''Legal Eagles'', and '' The Secret of My Success'', which he wrote with longtime partner Jim Cash. Epps Jr. graduated from the College of Arts and Letters at Michigan State University, and he has since gone on to teach at the University of Southern California.
