Deborah Howard
Deborah Janet Howard, (born 1946) is a British art historian and academic. Her principal research interests are the art and architecture of Venice and the Veneto; the relationship between Italy and the Eastern Mediterranean, and music and architecture in the Renaissance. She is Professor Emerita of Architectural History in the Faculty of Architecture and History of Art, University of Cambridge and a Fellow of St John's College, Cambridge. Degrees awarded Deborah Howard read for a first class honours Bachelor of Arts degree, an Architecture and Fine Arts Tripos, at Newnham College, University of Cambridge from 1964 to 1968, gaining a Master of Arts degree from Cambridge University in 1972. Howard also earned an MA with distinction from the Courtauld Institute of Art, University of London where she studied from 1968–72 and was awarded her PhD by the University of London in 1973. Abigail Brundin
Abigail Brundin is Professor of Italian and the first female Director of the British School in Rome. She is an expert on the literature and culture of Italy in the renaissance and early modern periods. Prior to her appointment at the BSR, she was Professor of Italian in the Faculty of Modern & Medieval Languages, and a Fellow of St Catherine's College, University of Cambridge. Education Brundin received her PhD. from the University of Cambridge in 2000. Her thesis was entitled ''Vittoria Colonna, 1490-1547: Petrachism and Evangelism in Sixteenth-Century Italy''.
