Ann Mara
Ann Mara (June 18, 1929 – February 1, 2015) was an American businesswoman, socialite, philanthropist, the wife and later widow of Wellington Mara, and the matriarch of the Mara family, which includes New York Giants CEO John Mara, and her granddaughters, actresses Rooney Mara and Kate Mara. Personal life Mara was born Ann Maria Teresa Mumm in Manhattan, New York City, the daughter of Olive ( née DuBord) and George Mumm. She was of German, French-Canadian, and Irish ancestry. She married Wellington Mara (1916–2005) in 1954 and had eleven children. Ann Mumm met Wellington Mara by chance when a woman fainted at a 7:30 a.m. Mass that they both regularly attended. Both Ann and Wellington rushed to her side to help. Three of their early dates took place at Yankee Stadium, Madison Square Garden, and the Fordham gymnasium. Kenneth Kamal Scott
Kenneth Kamal Scott (3 March 1940 – 1 February 2015) was an American singer, dancer and actor, whose sixty-five-year career had included numerous achievements in a diverse array of genres and settings, including Broadway, jazz, pop, opera, ballet and modern dance. Scott began his performance career as a singer at age seven, and by the age of eleven began performing at the Apollo Theater as the featured vocalist for musicians such as Earl Hines, Earl "Fatha" Hines. Other notable accomplishments include dancing as a member of the Alvin Ailey company in 1959, rising to the starring role of The Wiz in the Broadway company from 1975 to 1979, scoring a hit with the song ''Bolinas'' as featured vocalist with Billy Cobham in 1978, and appearances with the Boston Pops under John Williams. Beryl Catherine Platt, Baroness Platt of Writtle HonFIMechE (née Myatt; 18 April 1923 – 1 February 2015) was a British Conservative politician and member of the House of Lords. Her background was in engineering, and she worked in aeronautics and aviation safety. She retained a strong interest in science and technology, particularly the role and advancement of women in these fields. Early life Beryl Catherine Myatt was born at Leigh-on-Sea on 18 April 1923. She was the daughter of Ernest Myatt and Dorothy Wood. Platt was educated at Westcliff High School for Girls in Southend-On-Sea, Essex where her favourite subject was mathematics. The headmistress of Westcliff predicted that this "outstanding pupil" had a university future ahead of her at Cambridge but, despite excellent exam results, the outbreak of the Second World War led to a hiatus in Platt's education. ''Afro Samurai'' is an action video game for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, loosely based on the manga and anime series of the same name. It was announced in the February 2008 issue of ''Play'' magazine and released on January 27, 2009. The game was developed by Namco Bandai Games and in North America, it was the first (and would end up being the only) game published under their western label, Surge. Monty Oum
Monyreak Oum ( ; June 22, 1981 – February 1, 2015) was an American web-based animator and writer. Oum attracted attention within the gaming community after releasing an animated video in 2007, titled ''Haloid'', where characters from the ''Halo'' and ''Metroid'' video game franchises fight against each other'','' which went viral. In October of the same year, he released a follow-up, ''Dead Fantasy''. Oum began working for Rooster Teeth, serving as the lead animator for ''Red vs. Blue'', and creating the original animated series ''RWBY''. Patrick Ngcobo (died 1 February 2015) was a Carnatic classic musician born in Kloof (Gillets), Durban, South Africa. He belongs to the warrior Zulu tribe in KwaZulu-Natal province in South Africa. Although he was a Zulu singer he specialized in Indian classic music and could sing songs in seven languages including Tamil, Kannada, Telugu, and Malayalam languages.
