''Death of a Dude'' is a Nero Wolfe detective novel by Rex Stout, published by the Viking Press in 1969. Plot introduction Archie Goodwin is part of a house party at Lily Rowan's vacation home in Montana when a murder brings Nero Wolfe from New York to take a hand. Uniquely for a Nero Wolfe novel, it takes place entirely away from the brownstone on West 35th Street. Rex Stout
Rex Todhunter Stout (; December 1, 1886 – October 27, 1975) was an American writer noted for his detective fiction. His best-known characters are the detective Nero Wolfe and his assistant Archie Goodwin, who were featured in 33 novels and 39 novellas between 1934 and 1975. In 1959, Stout received the Mystery Writers of America's Grand Master Award. The Nero Wolfe corpus was nominated Best Mystery Series of the Century at Bouchercon XXXI, the world's largest mystery convention, and Rex Stout was nominated Best Mystery Writer of the Century. Michael Muir Jaffe (born January 9, 1945) is an American TV and film producer. He started out in the business with his father, producer and former AFTRA lawyer Henry Jaffe (1907–1992). His mother was actress Jean Muir. He has more than 120 producing credits but ventured into writing and directing only for the A&E television series ''A Nero Wolfe Mystery'' (2001–02), which he called "the love of my life." Michael Prichard
Michael Prichard is an American actor and audiobook reader. Prichard grew up on a farm in Kansas, and first developed his baritone voice by singing. He earned an MFA in theater from the University of Southern California. He is best known for narrating audiobooks, including the complete Nero Wolfe mystery series by Rex Stout and the complete Travis McGee thriller series by John D. MacDonald.
