Death Wish Live
''Death Wish Live'' was a week of live shows from Channel 4 showcasing stunts for entertainment. The five nights each featured a particular artiste; Jonathan Goodwin, The Pain Men, Zamora The Torture King, Pyro Boy Pyro Boy (born Wally Glenn) is an American stuntman, best known for strapping fireworks all over his body and blowing them up on stage. Jonathan Goodwin opened the series with a hangman stunt where he was to escape cuffs before a water filled barrel pulled the noose upwards, lifting him smoothly off his feet rather than the traditional trapdoor method, in a stunt called Cheating the Gallows. The stunt went wrong when he failed to pick the lock and was seen kicking his legs before passing out and being dropped, unconscious, into cardboard boxes at which point the show went to intermission. Jonathan Goodwin (escapologist)
Jonathan Goodwin (born 20 February 1980) is a retired escapologist and daredevil. Early life Goodwin was born in Haverfordwest, Pembrokeshire, Wales, and grew up in Robeston Wathen. He attended the since-closed Tasker Milward Voluntary Controlled School in Haverfordwest. Career He first appeared on Channel 4 TV programme ''Dirty Tricks'' and has subsequently appeared in TV specials '' The Seven Stupidest Things to Escape From'', and ''Deathwish Live'' as well as Discovery Channel's '' One Way Out'' and ''How Not to Become Shark Bait'' in which he allowed himself to be attacked by a Caribbean reef shark. Goodwin returned to Discovery Channel in 2009 for a ten-part series of ''One Way Out'' which also starred engineer Terry Stroud. He also appeared in an episode of the Channel 4 programme '' Balls of Steel'', with his father helping him with a stunt. Zamora The Torture King
Zamora the Torture King is the stage name of Tim Cridland, an American sideshow performer. Zamora was an original member of the Jim Rose Circus, where he performed painful feats as entertainment. His stunts include fire eating, sword swallowing, body skewering and electric shock. Zamora co-authored (with Jan Gregor) ''Circus of the Scars'', a history of the Jim Rose Circus.
