Death Spells
Death Spells was an American digital hardcore band formed in 2012. The group was composed of My Chemical Romance rhythm guitarist Frank Iero and keyboardist James Dewees (also of The Get Up Kids and Reggie and the Full Effect), who were both members of hardcore punk band Leathermouth as well. History Frank Iero and James Dewees were sharing an apartment in North Hollywood, Los Angeles in 2012 while My Chemical Romance was writing and recording in studio. The project originally came to fruition when Iero and Dewees snuck equipment out of the studio so they could mess around with it and were "trying to blow up each other's speakers." The seediness of the area they were located in was a huge influence to the music, with the pair aiming to get "as grimly as humanely possible" without getting kicked out of the apartment. Reggie And The Full Effect
Reggie and the Full Effect is an American rock band, the solo project of James Dewees, the former keyboardist for The Get Up Kids. It has released seven full-length albums, the latest in 2018, and has toured with various associated acts in their promotion. History Early years (1998–2004) In the mid-1990s when he was playing with Coalesce, Dewees recorded four songs on a cassette tape as a joke, and would hand them out at concerts. After Matt Pryor received one, he urged Dewees to contact Ed Rose to record the material. With Pryor's help, Dewees recorded and released Reggie and the Full Effect's first album, ''Greatest Hits 1984–1987'', on Second Nature Recordings in 1999. In April 2000, Reggie released their second full-length, ''Promotional Copy'', on Vagrant Records. The album caused much confusion in stores because of the album art, which is styled in the same manner as a promotional recording which is not intended to be sold. Riot Fest is an annual three-day punk rock music festival based in Chicago, Illinois, at Douglass Park. It is known for booking reunions, guest performances, and full album performances. Riot Fest remains one of the largest independently owned music festivals in the United States. Architects are an American rock band from Kansas City, Missouri. The band was formed by previous members of the punk and ska band The Gadjits, brothers Brandon, Adam, and Zach Phillips, and Mike Alexander. History After releasing four albums from 1996 to 2002, The Gadjits signed with RCA Records and were in the process of recording their fifth album, ''Our Time To...'' (which has never been released) when RCA suddenly dropped them following a merger with Jive Records. Following the band being dropped, Brandon Philips said "we were tired of dragging around the baggage that comes with still being called The Gadjits after many years. So we just killed The Gadjits and became a new thing; that’s it." Mindless Self Indulgence (often referred to as MSI) is an American electropunk band formed in New York City in 1997. Their music has a mixed style which includes punk rock, alternative rock, electronica, techno, industrial, hip hop, and breakbeat hardcore. History Between 1987 and 1996, Jimmy Urine recorded about 35 songs which varied in musical style, usually settling in an industrial/electronic punk style. These songs were recorded with himself and his brother, Markus Euringer in New York City using rudimentary equipment. Urine and his brother released an album titled ''Mindless Self-Indulgence'', featuring Steve, Righ?, on 'Bed of Roses', which featured songs performed in an industrial style akin to Nine Inch Nails. Their first live concert was on September 7th, 1995 during the self-titled album era. The Get Up Kids are an American rock band from Olathe, Kansas. Formed in 1995, the band was a major player in the mid-1990s Midwest emo scene, otherwise known as the " second wave" of emo music. Their second album ''Something to Write Home About'' remains their most widely acclaimed album, and is considered to be one of the quintessential albums of the second-wave emo movement.
