Death Carries A Cane
''Death Carries a Cane'' (Italian title: ''Passi di danza su una lama di rasoio''/ ''Dance Steps on the Edge of a Razor''), is a 1973 Italian giallo film directed by Maurizio Pradeaux. It starred Robert Hoffmann, Nieves Navarro and Luciano Rossi. The film was later released on video as ''The Tormentor'', ''Maniac at Large'', ''The Night of the Rolling Heads'' and ''Devil Blade''. (Pradeaux went on to direct another giallo, the 1977 ''Death Steps in the Dark''.) Plot Kitty (Susan Scott) is vactioning in Italy with her parents to again meet with her boyfriend Alberto (Robert Hoffmann). She tries the coin-operated binoculars and scans the city's buildings, when she sees an attack through a window. A woman is killed in her apartment by being stabbed to death by a killer in a black hat, glasses, and overcoat. She unfortunately runs out of time for the scope, so she tries again with anothet coin. Maurizio Pradeaux
Maurizio Pradeaux (16 April 1931 – 1 July 2022) was an Italian film director and screenwriter. He began his career as a production assistant, working with . '' Ramon the Mexican'', a western, which was released in 1967, was his debut as a film director. He wrote the screenplays for all the films he directed. Many fell into the category known in Italian as ''giallo'' ('yellow'), which defines a style of mystery and detective fiction and films. Robert Hoffmann (30 August 1939 – 4 July 2022) was an Austrian actor, best known to British audiences for his title role performance in ''The Adventures of Robinson Crusoe'' (1964). Hoffmann was born in Salzburg. ''Crusoe'' was his screen debut, but he later worked in film (including a number of giallo horror-thrillers) and TV throughout Europe, in Germany, Italy, France the UK, and appeared in films by directors such as Marcel Carné, Antonio Pietrangeli, Robert Siodmak, and Robert Enrico.
