''You Were Never Lovelier'' is a 1942 American musical romantic comedy film directed by William A. Seiter and starring Fred Astaire and Rita Hayworth. ''Greek'' is an American comedy-drama television series which follows the students of fictional Cyprus-Rhodes University (CRU) who participate in the school's Greek system. It was created by Patrick Sean Smith and premiered on ABC Family network on July 9, 2007. Merritt Gant
Merritt Gant (born February 18, 1971) is a guitarist most recognized for his association with the band Overkill (band), Overkill. Originally from Millville, New Jersey, Gant graduated from Millville Senior High School in 1989. In the late 1980s, Gant entered the local music scene with hard rock band Drastic Measures. During Gant's tenure with Drastic Measures, one full-length album and one demo were released. In 1989, Gant was recruited by Chris Bombeke to play guitar with Faith or Fear. However, shortly after doing a series of shows and recording several songs with Faith or Fear, Gant auditioned and was hired to play for the thrash metal band Overkill (band), Overkill. In 1990, Overkill (band), Overkill held auditions to replace departing guitarist Bobby Gustafson. Gustafson was replaced by two guitarists, Rob Cannavino and Merritt Gant. Leeno Dee
Leeno Dee is an Australian-born bassist, singer and songwriter, best known for his major label acts Jerk, Candy Harlots and his current band Dept. of Gloom. Early life Dee was born in Sydney and was bitten by the music bug at the age of 8, when he heard British bands Slade and The Sweet. At 12, he began playing guitar and at 16 switched to bass, which became his main instrument. Career Dept. of Gloom Dee formed Dept. of Gloom in June 2016 with longtime cohort guitarist Phil Bowley and drummer AJ. The Dearly Beloved (band)
The Dearly Beloved were an American garage rock band from Tucson, Arizona, originally known as the Intruders, who began as an instrumental surf rock combo, but eventually incorporated vocals into their sound after the rise of the British Invasion. After recording their first single as the Intruders, they changed their name to Quinstrels, recording one single under that moniker, but later settling upon the name for which they are best known, the Dearly Beloved. Along with the Grodes, they became one of the top groups in the Tucson area, scoring a #1 hit in there, and were on the cusp of breaking to a wider national audience, even briefly recording with Columbia Records and receiving some airtime on radios stations in other parts of the country, but were unable to maintain the momentum long enough to achieve wider success. ''Purple Rain'' is a 1984 American rock musical drama film scored by and starring Prince in his acting debut. Developed to showcase his talents, it contains several concert sequences, featuring Prince and his band The Revolution. The film is directed by Albert Magnoli, who later became Prince's manager, from a screenplay by Magnoli and William Blinn. The cast also features Apollonia Kotero, Morris Day, Olga Karlatos and Clarence Williams III. Principal photography took place almost entirely in Minneapolis: the film features many local landmarks, including the Crystal Court of the IDS Center and the First Avenue nightclub, which was paid $100,000 for the club being used during filming; it was closed for 25 days. "Let's Go Crazy" is a 1984 song by Prince and The Revolution, from the album '' Purple Rain''. It was the opening track on both the album and the film '' Purple Rain''. "Let's Go Crazy" was one of Prince's most popular songs, and was a staple for concert performances, often segueing into other hits. When released as a single, the song became Prince's second number-one hit on the ''Billboard'' Hot 100, and also topped the two component charts, the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs and Hot Dance Club Play charts, as well as becoming a UK Top 10 hit. The B-side was the lyrically controversial "Erotic City". In the UK, the song was released as a double A-side with "Take Me with U". Common to much of Prince's writing, the song is thought to be exhortation to follow Christian ethics, with the "De-elevator" of the lyrics being a metaphor for the Devil. It was released as the fifth and final single from the group's seventh studio album, '' American Idiot'', and the second song on the album. With the song running for 9 minutes and 8 seconds, it is Green Day's second longest song (with the band's longest song being fellow ''American Idiot'' song "Homecoming", which runs for 9 minutes and 18 seconds) and the group's longest song to be released as a single. The studio version of the song was considered to be unfriendly for radio, so it was cut down to 6½ minutes for the radio edit. ''Sun Ship'' is a posthumously released jazz album by tenor saxophonist John Coltrane recorded on August 26, 1965. Along with ''First Meditations'', recorded a week later, it was one of the last recording dates for Coltrane's "Classic Quartet" with McCoy Tyner, Jimmy Garrison, and Elvin Jones. (Tyner left Coltrane's group at the end of 1965 to form his own trio and to work with Tony Scott, and Jones departed in January 1966, joining Duke Ellington's band.)
