Deanna Laney Murders
The Deanna Laney murders were those committed by Deanna Laney of her two oldest sons, 8-year-old Joshua and 6-year-old Luke, by stoning. In a 2004 trial, she was found not guilty by reason of insanity. Details At roughly 11:30 pm on May 9, 2003, Laney woke and took Joshua, 8, to the yard of her home in New Chapel Hill, Texas where she lifted a large rock over her head and brought it down against his skull, fatally wounding him. She then dragged her 6-year-old son, Luke, to the same area, and killed him in the same manner. At some point afterwards, she attempted to kill her youngest son, 14-month-old Aaron, in his crib with a stone. Stoning, or lapidation, is a method of capital punishment where a group throws stones at a person until the subject dies from blunt trauma. Yaser Abdel Said ( ar, ياسر عبد السعيد; born January 27, 1957) is an Egyptian-American former taxi driver and convicted murderer. For 12 years, Said evaded arrest for the January 1, 2008, fatal shootings of his two daughters, Amina (18) and Sarah (17). Their bodies were found in his abandoned taxi cab in Irving, Texas, on the property of the Omni Mandalay Hotel (now the Omni Las Colinas Hotel). Said disappeared after the killings. Darlie Lynn Peck Routier (born January 4, 1970) is an American woman from Rowlett, Texas, who was convicted and sentenced to death for the murder of her five-year-old son Damon in 1996.
