Dean Thomas (footballer)
Dean Thomas (born 19 December 1961) is a Welsh former football player and manager. Thomas managed Hinckley United throughout almost the entirety of their fifteen year history and also managed Kettering Town. Playing career Thomas was a professional footballer with Wimbledon, Tampereen Ilves, Alemannia Aachen, Fortuna Düsseldorf, Northampton Town and Notts County. During his second loan spell with Ilves, Thomas won the Finnish championship in 1983. While at Notts County, he was club captain and played twice at Wembley Stadium. Managerial career His first managerial post was with Bedworth United, his hometown club. In 1997, he became newly formed Hinckley United's first manager. He led the club to the Southern Football League Western Division championship in the 2000–01 season and the FA Cup second round in December 2001 and December 2004. The ''Leicester Mercury'' is a British regional newspaper for the city of Leicester and the neighbouring counties of Leicestershire and Rutland. The paper began in the 19th century as the ''Leicester Daily Mercury'' and later changed to its present title. Early history The paper was founded by James Thompson, already proprietor of the ''Leicester Chronicle'' which he had merged with the ''Leicestershire Mercury'' ten years earlier. The ''Coventry Telegraph'' is a local English tabloid newspaper. It was founded as ''The Midland Daily Telegraph'' in 1891 by William Isaac Iliffe, and was Coventry's first daily newspaper. Sold for half a penny, it was a four-page broadsheet newspaper. It changed its name to the ''Coventry Evening Telegraph'' on 17 November 1941. On 2 October 2006, the ''Telegraph'' simply became the ''Coventry Telegraph'', reflecting its switch to a morning publication. The newspaper became a part of the then Mirror Group (prior to its merger with Trinity to become Trinity Mirror), in 1997. The Football Association Challenge Cup, more commonly known as the FA Cup, is an annual knockout football competition in men's domestic English football. The Southern League is a men's football competition featuring semi-professional clubs from the South and Midlands of England.
