Dean Nesmith
Dean Nesmith was a professional football player and athletic trainer in the United States. He played professionally for the New York "Football" Yankees and was a three-year letterman for the Kansas Jayhawks, where he would return as athletic trainer of the school. He also was the trainer for the 1960 United States Olympic Basketball Team. The New York Yankees of the second American Football League was the second professional American football team competing under that name. It is unrelated to the Yankees of the first AFL (and the National Football League), the Yankees of the third AFL, the Yankees of the American Association (then also called the American Football League) and the (later) Yankees of the All-America Football Conference. Kansas Jayhawks Football
The Kansas Jayhawks football program is the intercollegiate football program of the University of Kansas. The program is classified in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I Bowl Subdivision (FBS), and the team competes in the Big 12 Conference. The Jayhawks are led by head coach Lance Leipold. The program's first season was 1890, making it one of the oldest college football programs, and the oldest team in the state of Kansas.
