Dead Like Me (film)
''Dead like Me: Life After Death'' is a 2009 American fantasy comedy-drama film directed by Stephen Herek and written by John Masius and Stephen Godchaux, based on the short-lived 2003 television series ''Dead Like Me'' created by Bryan Fuller. Laura Harris, who played Daisy Adair in the series, was unavailable to return to the role and was replaced by Sarah Wynter. The rest of the returning cast reprised their roles, with new character Cameron Kane played by Henry Ian Cusick. The film was released on DVD on February 17, 2009, one month after its debut on Canada's Super Channel. Plot A crew of "reapers", whose job is to extract the souls of people who are about to die, find themselves confronted by change as their habitual meeting place, Der Waffle Haus, burns down the same day their boss and head reaper Rube disappears (having "gotten his lights"). Stephen Herek
Stephen Robert Herek (born November 10, 1958) is an American film director. Herek was born in San Antonio, Texas. He attended the University of Texas at Austin. Career His career as a film director took off in 1986 with the cult horror classic '' Critters'' followed by the hit comedy ''Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure'' in 1989. He then directed ''Don't Tell Mom the Babysitter's Dead'' in 1991 and became a regular director for The Walt Disney Company throughout the decade, helming ''The Mighty Ducks'' in 1992, ''The Three Musketeers'' in 1993, the highly successful live-action 1996 remake of '' 101 Dalmatians'' starring Glenn Close, and the Eddie Murphy comedy ''Holy Man'' in 1998. This is a list of the characters from the Showtime comedy-drama series ''Dead Like Me''. George Lass Georgia L. "George" Lass ( Ellen Muth) (1985–2003) is the youngest Reaper (both physically and chronologically) in the club. She is the protagonist of the series, and also performs the function of narrator. As a child, she is portrayed by Talia Ranger. George was born in 1985 and raised at Beatrice Lane (in the Seattle metropolitan area) by her parents, Joy and Clancy Lass.
