DeMarco Johnson
DeMarco Antonio Johnson (born October 6, 1975) is an American retired professional basketball player and former assistant basketball coach at Hampton University. Early life Johnson graduated from North Mecklenburg High School in 1993. He was an all-county selection as a senior. College career Johnson attended and played collegiately for the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. He redshirted his freshman year before lettering in basketball for four years and was selected in the All-Freshman team of the Metro Conference. As a sophomore, he was a second-team All-Conference USA selection and then a two-time first-team All-C-USA selection. C-USA also named Johnson player of the year in 1998. He graduated with a bachelor's degree in criminal justice. With Johnson, Charlotte appeared in the NCAA post-season tournament in 1995, 1997, and 1998 and was the top regular season Conference USA team in 1995 and 1997. Košarkarsko društvo Slovan, commonly referred to as KD Slovan or simply Slovan, is a basketball team from Ljubljana, Slovenia. History The origins of the club are dating back to 1951, when Stane Urek suggested a formation of a basketball club in Poljane (KK Poljane), at one of Ljubljana's high schools. The club got its official permission to play on 13 April in the same year. After just two days, they organised their first tournament, at which they invited Rudar Trbovlje and Krka, both playing in the first national league. Metro Conference
The Metropolitan Collegiate Athletic Conference, popularly known as the Metro Conference, was an NCAA Division I athletics conference, so named because its six charter members were all in urban metropolitan areas, though its later members did not follow that pattern. The conference was centered in the Upper South with some strength in the Deep South. The conference never sponsored football, although most of its members throughout its history had Division I-A football programs (from 1983 to 1991, all Metro schools had independent football programs). Conference USA (C-USA or CUSA) is an intercollegiate athletic conference whose current member institutions are located within the Southern United States. The conference participates in the NCAA's Division I in all sports. C-USA's offices are located in Dallas, Texas. History C-USA was founded in 1995 by the merger of the Metro Conference and Great Midwest Conference, two Division I conferences that did not sponsor football. However, the merger did not include either Great Midwest member Dayton or Metro members VCU and Virginia Tech. Conference USA Men's Basketball Player Of The Year
The Conference USA Men's Basketball Player of the Year is a basketball award given to Conference USA's (C-USA) most outstanding player. The award was first given following C-USA's inaugural 1995–96 season. Two players have received the award multiple times: Danny Fortson (1996, 1997) and Steve Logan (2001, 2002).
