Frederick Adrian DeLuca (October 3, 1947 – September 14, 2015) was an American businessman, who was the co-founder and president of the Subway franchise of fast food restaurants with Peter Buck. During his tenure, Subway grew into the largest franchise in the world. Early life and education Fred DeLuca was born in Brooklyn, New York, on October 3, 1947 to Italian American parents Carmela and Salvatore DeLuca. At the age of 10, DeLuca moved to Amsterdam, New York, where he and his family became friends with Peter Buck. Once in his teens, he moved with his family to Bridgeport, Connecticut, where he graduated from Central High School in 1965. Louis DeLuca (born August 17, 1933) is a retired businessman and a Republican Party politician in the United States. He served as the state senator for the 32nd District of Connecticut until November 30, 2007. Political career DeLuca was born in Everett, Massachusetts. He was elected to the senate in 1990, representing Bethlehem, Bridgewater, Middlebury, Oxford, Roxbury, Seymour, Southbury, Thomaston, Watertown and Woodbury. Saverio Frank "Sam" DeLuca (May 2, 1936 – September 13, 2011) was an American Professional Football offensive lineman in the American Football League and later a radio and television football coverage broadcaster. He played six seasons, three for the Los Angeles/San Diego Chargers and three for the New York Jets. He was a member of the 1969 New York Jet Championship season on IR. After football, he had a long career in sports broadcasting. Hector F. DeLuca, born in Pueblo, Colorado in 1930, is an emeritus University of Wisconsin–Madison professor and former chairman of the university's biochemistry department. DeLuca is well known for his research in involving Vitamin D, from which several Pharmacology, pharmaceutical drugs are derived. He was elected to the United States National Academy of Sciences in 1979. DeLuca has trained almost 160 graduate students and has more than 150 patents to his name. Licensing of his technology, through the Wisconsin Alumni Research Foundation, has generated tens of millions of dollars in revenue for the university. In addition, DeLuca is president (corporate title), president of Deltanoid Pharmaceuticals, a biotechnology company founded on technology he developed. He was awarded the Bolton S. George Benjamin DeLuca (September 20, 1889 – May 2, 1983) was an American lawyer, banker and politician. He was Lieutenant Governor of New York from 1955 to 1958. Life He was the son of Mariano DeLuca and Catherine (Bonetti) DeLuca. His parents came to the United States in the 1880s from the Province of Belluno. He was Bronx County District Attorney from 1950 to 1954. He was Lieutenant Governor of New York from 1955 to 1958, elected on the Democratic ticket with Governor W.
