DeKalb County Public Library
The DeKalb County Public Library (DCPL) is the public library system of DeKalb County, Georgia in the Atlanta metropolitan area. The library system headquarters are at the Darro C. Willey Administrative Offices in Decatur, Georgia, Decatur. Its collection includes over 850,000 books and over 19,000 downloadable e-books; collections of over 400 magazines, academic journal, academic and scientific journals, and newspapers; and audiovisual materials including videotapes, audiobooks, Compact Disc, CDs, and DVDs. Library patrons can also access a variety of databases and online references through the Georgia Library Learning Online, GALILEO (GeorgiA LIbrary LEarning Online) system. The library currently operates 22 branches located throughout the county, with construction of two additional branches planned. Chamblee, Georgia
Chamblee ( ) is a city in northern DeKalb County, Georgia, United States, northeast of Atlanta. The population was 30,164 as of the 2020 census. History The area that would later become Chamblee was originally dairy farms. During the late nineteenth century, an intersection of two railroads was constructed in Chamblee; one carried passengers from Atlanta to Charlotte, North Carolina, while the other ferried workers and goods back and forth from a factory in Roswell to Atlanta. A settlement known as Roswell Junction emerged at the intersection, and the United States Postal Service decided to establish a post office there. However, feeling the name of the settlement was too similar to nearby Roswell, they randomly selected Chamblee from a list of petitioners for the new post office name. Atlanta–Fulton Public Library System
The Atlanta–Fulton Public Library System is a network of public libraries serving the City of Atlanta and Fulton County, both in the U.S. state of Georgia. Rockdale County is a county located in the U.S. state of Georgia. As of the 2020 census, the population was 93,570 up from 85,215 in 2010. The county seat is Conyers. Northlake is an unincorporated community in northeastern Atlanta metropolitan area, metro Atlanta, Georgia (U.S. state), Georgia, United States, in DeKalb County, Georgia, DeKalb County. Embry Hills, Georgia
Embry Hills is a neighborhood in northern unincorporated DeKalb County, Georgia, United States, near the intersection of I-85 and I-285. The neighborhood has a mix of middle-class young families and retirees, with houses priced from the mid-$200,000s to the upper-$300,000s. Embry Hills is located south of Doraville, east of Chamblee, and north of Tucker, but is not considered part of any of the three cities, although many area businesses and residences use a Chamblee address. Tucker, Georgia
Tucker is a city located in DeKalb County, Georgia, United States, located near Atlanta and was originally settled in the 1820s, and later developed as a railroad community in 1892. Lithonia (, ; AAVE: ) is a city in eastern DeKalb County, Georgia, United States. The city's population was 2,662 at the 2020 census. Lithonia is in the Atlanta metropolitan area. "Lithonia" means "city/town of stone". Lithonia is in the heart of the Georgian granite-quarrying and viewing region, hence the name of the town, from the Greek , for “stone”. The huge nearby Stone Mountain is composed of granite, while the Lithonia gneiss is a form of metamorphic rock. The Stone Mountain granite is younger than, and has intruded the Lithonia gneiss.
