Carmen Sánchez (21 April 1898 – 20 November 1985) was a Spanish singer, dancer, and actress. She started her career as dancer and singer of zarzuela at very young age. Manuel Requena (1802–1876) was a Yucatán-born Californio politician who served multiple terms as Alcalde of Los Angeles (Mayor of Los Angeles). Requena became active in Los Angeles politics in the 1830s, during the Mexican era, and continued serving after the American Conquest of California until his death in the 1850s. José Luis Ortiz Peláez (19 March 1931 – 17 January 2001), more commonly known as Pepe Ortiz was a Spanish professional footballer who played his entire career for Real Gijón as a right winger or attacking midfielder.
