David Robert Stevens, Baron Stevens of Ludgate (born 26 May 1936), is a British peer who was formerly one of two UKIP members in the House of Lords. He was educated at Stowe School and Sidney Sussex College, Cambridge (MA, Economics). He is the son of Arthur Edwin Stevens who was the creator of the first body-worn electronic hearing aid. He was the chairman of United Newspapers, 1981–1999. He was created a life peer on 27 March 1987 taking the title Baron Stevens of Ludgate, of Ludgate in the City of London. He originally sat as a Conservative, but was expelled by the party in 2004 after he signed a letter in support of UKIP. David Graham Stevens (born January 1962) is a British businessman, and was CEO of Admiral Group from 2016-2020. Early life David Graham Stevens, was born in January 1962. Dave Lee Stevens (July 29, 1955 – March 11, 2008) was an American illustrator and comics artist. He was most famous for creating ''Rocketeer, The Rocketeer'' comic book and film character, and for his pin-up style "glamour art" illustrations, especially of model Bettie Page. He was the first to win Comic-Con International's Russ Manning Award, Russ Manning Most Promising Newcomer Award in 1982, and received both an Inkpot Award and the Kirby Award for Best Graphic Album in 1986. Dave Stevens (born January 12, 1966) is an athlete and a 7 time Emmy Award winning sports broadcasting professional. Stevens, a congenital amputee, is the only athlete ever to play college football or minor league baseball without legs. Stevens played minor league baseball for the St. Paul Saints in 1996. He was a college athlete at Augsburg College where he played varsity football, baseball and wrestled. While at Augsburg College, Stevens also traveled to Ireland, Australia and New Zealand to play football for Team USA. David Stevens (22 December 1940 – 17 July 2018) was an Australian writer and director, best known for his work on ''Breaker Morant'', ''A Town Like Alice'', and ''The Sum of Us''. Biography Stevens was born in 1940, in Tiberias, Palestine where his father was an aircraft engineer working on flying boats. In 1960, he left to emigrate to Australia, however his ship was diverted to New Zealand where he remained, until moving to Australia in the early 1970s. Stevens co-wrote ''Breaker Morant'' with Bruce Beresford and Jonathan Hardy, earning an Oscar nomination. He wrote the play ''The Sum of Us'', which ran in New York for a year and won the Outer Critics Circle Award. He adapted it into a feature film, featuring Russell Crowe and Jack Thompson, which won an Australian Film Institute Award for Best Screenplay.
