David Silverman (animator)
David Silverman (born March 15, 1957) is an American animator who has directed numerous episodes of the animated TV series ''The Simpsons'', as well as its film adaptation. Silverman was involved with the series from the very beginning, animating all of the original short ''Simpsons'' cartoons that aired on ''The Tracey Ullman Show.'' He went on to serve as director of animation for several years. He also did the animation for the 2016 film ''The Edge of Seventeen,'' which was produced by Gracie Films. Early life and career Silverman was born to a Jewish family on Long Island, New York. His father, Joseph Silverman, was a chemical engineering professor at the University of Maryland, College Park, for over 30 years. He grew up in Silver Spring, Maryland, and attended the University of Maryland for two years, focusing on art. He then attended UCLA and majored in animation. Silver Spring, Maryland
Silver Spring is a census-designated place (CDP) in southeastern Montgomery County, Maryland, United States, near Washington, D.C. Although officially unincorporated, in practice it is an edge city, with a population of 81,015 at the 2020 census, making it the fifth-most populous place in Maryland after Baltimore, Columbia, Germantown, and Waldorf. Downtown, next to the northern tip of Washington, D.C., is the oldest and most urbanized part of the community, surrounded by several inner suburban residential neighborhoods inside the Capital Beltway. Many mixed-use developments combining retail, residential, and office space have been built since 2004. Silver Spring takes its name from a mica-flecked spring discovered there in 1840 by Francis Preston Blair, who subsequently bought much of the surrounding land. William Snelgrove Finn (born November 1, 1958) is an American animator, voice actor, storyboard artist, and director. Career His work in animation includes characters from Disney, Warner Bros., DreamWorks, and Don Bluth films such as ''The Secret of NIMH'', ''Oliver & Company'', ''The Little Mermaid'', ''The Rescuers Down Under'', and ''Pocahontas''. ''The Road to El Dorado'' is a 2000 American animated adventure film produced by DreamWorks Animation and released by DreamWorks Pictures. It was the third animated feature produced by DreamWorks. "The Simpsons 138th Episode Spectacular" is the tenth episode of the seventh season of the American animated television series ''The Simpsons''. It originally aired on the Fox network in the United States on December 3, 1995. As the title suggests, it is the 138th episode and the third clip show episode of ''The Simpsons'', after " So It's Come to This: A Simpsons Clip Show" and "Another Simpsons Clip Show". An audio commentary is an additional audio track, usually digital, consisting of a lecture or comments by one or more speakers, that plays in real time with a video. Commentaries can be serious or entertaining in nature, and can add information which otherwise would not be disclosed to audience members.
