David Sias
David Sias (born June 2, 1987 in Fountain Valley, California) is an American soccer player. Career Youth and amateur Sias attended Fountain Valley High School, played club soccer for the Wolfpack Soccer Club with coach Kevin Smith, and played college soccer at University of California, Irvine, where he was named to the All-Big West second team in 2007, and was a 2008 Big West scholar-athlete, majoring in economics. He was also named Big West Defender of the Year his senior year. During his college years, Sias also played with Orange County Blue Star in the USL Premier Development League. Professional Sias was drafted in the third round (43rd overall) in the 2009 MLS SuperDraft by Chicago Fire, but was not offered a professional contract with the team; instead, he joined the USL First Division expansion franchise Austin Aztex in March 2009. Fountain Valley is a suburban city in Orange County, California. The population was 57,047 at the 2020 United States Census, 2020 census. USL First Division
The USL First Division (usually referred to as USL-1) was a professional men's soccer league in the United States and Canada from 2005 to 2010. During its existence, it formed the second tier of soccer in the United States soccer league system behind Major League Soccer. It was operated by United Soccer Leagues (USL) and was known as the A-League, from 1997 until 2004. Minnesota Thunder was an American professional soccer team based in Minnesota, United States. Founded in 1990, the team played in the USL First Division (USL-1), the second tier of the American Soccer Pyramid, until 2009. The team played its home games at the National Sports Center in nearby Blaine, Minnesota for its final two seasons. The team's colors were navy blue, light blue, silver, and white.
