David Sessions
David R. Sessions is a Republican Party (United States), Republican Party member of the Alabama Senate from the 35th district. He was previously a member of the Alabama House of Representatives from House District 105, which encompasses the southern portion of Mobile County, Alabama. Sessions was elected to office on May 10, 2011, in a special election held to fill the legislative seat left vacant by the appointment of Spencer Collier to the Alabama Department of Homeland Security. In 2012, Sessions was appointed to the House Committee on Boards, Agencies, and Commissions, the Committee on Education Policy, and the Committee on County and Municipal Government. For the 2014 legislative session he was named to the House Agriculture and Forestry Committee and in 2015 became chairman of the committee. Bill Hightower (born 1959) is an American politician from the state of Alabama. From 2013 through 2018, he was a Republican member of the Alabama Senate, representing the 35th district. Early life and education Hightower was raised in Mobile, Alabama, where his father worked at the University of South Alabama's medical center. Hightower graduated from the University of South Alabama with a Bachelor of Science in business and finance in 1984. After working in a textile factory in Saraland, Alabama, he attended Vanderbilt University, where he earned a Master of Business Administration in 1990. Spencer Collier
Jack Spencer Collier (born March 27, 1973) is an American politician who served as a Republican member for the 105th district in the Alabama House of Representatives from 2002 to 2011. After two terms in the legislature, Collier was appointed as the state's Homeland Security Director by Governor Robert Bentley. In 2013, the Alabama Legislature passed a bill that consolidated law enforcement and public safety agencies. On April 5, 2013, after signing the bill into law, Collier was named to the cabinet position as the Secretary of Law Enforcement. Grand Bay, Alabama
Grand Bay is an unincorporated community and census-designated place (CDP) in Mobile County, Alabama, United States. It is part of the Mobile metropolitan area. The population was 3,460 at the 2020 census. History According to local accounts, George Cassibry was the first white person to settle in Grand Bay. He came to the area in 1853, establishing a home site near the headwaters of Franklin Creek located today near the intersection of Highway 90 and Ramsey Road. Exploration and settlement of the area was well underway by the mid-nineteenth century. During the Civil War, the town saw brief military action as a column of troops under U.S. General Gordon Granger reached the town as a preliminary move in the siege of Mobile. Mobile County ( ) is located in the southwestern corner of the U.S. state of Alabama. It is the second most-populous county in the state after Jefferson County. As of the 2020 census, its population was 414,809. Its county seat is Mobile, which was founded as a deepwater port on the Mobile River.
