Dave Ross
Dave Ross (born April 10, 1952) is a talk show host on Seattle's KIRO-FM radio station. He joined KIRO as a news anchor in 1978 and was given his own talk show in 1987. He has sometimes broadcast his show while on assignment in other locations, including overseas, such as Baghdad, Iraq in April 2004. Ross is also heard on the CBS Radio Network, where he provides daily political commentary. Ross was the 2004 Democratic Party candidate for the U.S. House of Representatives for . For more than three decades in his spare time he has been performing with the Seattle Gilbert and Sullivan Society. David Alexander Ross
David Alexander Ross, (March 12, 1819 – July 23, 1897) was a lawyer, businessman and political figure in Quebec. He represented Québec-Comté in the Legislative Assembly of Quebec from 1878 to 1881 as a Liberal. He was born in Quebec City, the son of John Ross. He studied with Daniel Wilkie and at the Petit Séminaire de Québec. Ross went on to article as a lawyer, was called to the bar in 1848 and set up practice at Quebec City, in partnership with Andrew Stuart. In 1841, he bought a foundry, using it to manufacture stoves and other items. In 1852, he became partner in a general store. Ross was also an agent for the Scottish Amicable Life Insurance Society and the Imperial Fire Insurance Company of London. USS ''Ross'' (DD-563) was a U.S. Navy ''Fletcher'' class destroyer. ''Ross'' is the only ship in U.S. naval history to survive two underwater mine explosions. Namesake David Ross was a lieutenant in the Continental Navy. He commanded the American private armed ship ''Belvedere'' (14 guns) at the end of the 18th century. While en route to London, on 23 December 1799, his ship was caught in a hurricane. Provisions, seven guns and a quantity of shot were thrown overboard to lighten ship. David Ross (15 March 1902 – 12 June 1984) was an Australian aviator and intelligence officer. He was notably the consul of the British Empire to Portuguese Timor during the Second World War. Later in life he served as Regional Director of Civil Aviation for Western Australia. Early life and career Ross was born in Australia on 15 March 1902. At the age of 13 he received a scholarship opportunity to join the Royal Australian Navy, which he accepted.
