David Rogers (North Carolina Politician)
David William Rogers (born July 1, 1965) is an American politician from the state of North Carolina. He is a former Republican Party (United States), Republican member of the North Carolina House of Representatives, who represented the 112th district (including constituents in Rutherford County, North Carolina, Rutherford and Burke County, North Carolina, Burke counties) from 2016 to 2023. He was first appointed to the chamber in August 2016. Rogers is listed as one of the most conservative members of the North Carolina General Assembly, North Carolina legislature. Rogers is an attorney, and was admitted to the North Carolina Bar in 1991. He earned his Juris Doctor, JD from the University of Tulsa and his Bachelor of Science, BS from Oral Roberts University. Burke County is a county located in the U.S. state of North Carolina. As of the 2020 census, the population was 87,570. Its county seat is Morganton. Burke County is part of the Hickory–Lenoir–Morganton, NC Metropolitan Statistical Area. History Indigenous peoples inhabited the interior as well as the coastal areas for thousands of years. Native Americans of the complex and far-flung Mississippian culture inhabited the county long before Europeans arrived in the New World. Tricia Cotham
Patricia "Tricia" Ann Cotham (born 1978) is a former member of the North Carolina House of Representatives from the 100th district (Mecklenburg County, NC, Mecklenburg County) and congressional candidate. In March 2007, she was appointed by Governor Mike Easley, upon the recommendation of local Democratic Party leaders, to replace state Representative James B. Black, who had resigned. At 28 years old, Cotham became the youngest member of the 2007-2008 session of the North Carolina General Assembly, state legislature and the youngest woman to ever serve in the NC House of Representatives. Cotham served as Co-Chair of the House's K-12 Education subcommittee from 2008-2010. Rutherford County is a county in the southwestern area of the U.S. state of North Carolina. As of the 2020 census, the population was 64,444. Its county seat is Rutherfordton.
