David Power (tennis)
David Power (September 12, 1944, in Chicago, Illinois – June 15, 2022) was an American tennis player. He was a two-time All-American tennis player at the Indiana University Bloomington in 1965, 1966, and 1967. Career Power won the singles title at the Cincinnati Masters in 1966, defeating Tom Gorman in the semifinals and William Harris in the final. He also teamed with John Pickens to win the doubles title in Cincinnati in 1965. Power was ranked as high as No. 25 in singles in the United States, and in 1967 he paired with Will Coghlan William Coghlan born (6 March 1941) is a former tennis player from Australia. David Power (Gaelic Football Manager)
David Power (born 1983) is an Irish Gaelic football manager. He has been manager of the Tipperary county team since 2019. Power previously managed Wexford. In 2020, he led Tipperary to a first Munster Senior Football Championship title for 85 years. Career Born in Kilsheelan, County Tipperary, Power played for the Kilsheelan–Kilcash club. Power went on to become involved in team management and coaching. An All-Ireland-winning manager with Tipperary in the minor grade, he has also taken charge of the Tipperary under-21 and junior teams. Power was the manager of the senior Wexford county team from 2014 until 2016. In September 2019, Power was named as the new manager of the Tipperary senior football team on a two-year term. Dave Power (runner)
David William Power (14 July 1928 – 1 February 2014) was an Australian athlete who competed mainly in the 10,000 metres during his career. Born in Maitland, New South Wales, he competed for Australia in the 1956 Summer Olympics in Melbourne and the 1960 Summer Olympics held in Rome, Italy in the 10,000 metres where he won the bronze medal. Dave Power (soccer)
Dave Power is an English-born, American retired professional footballer. Career Power was born and Liverpool, and played on the Everton F.C. youth squad. He began his professional career in Ireland with Waterford F.C. In 1975 while the club was touring the U.S., Waterford struck an on-loan deal for his services with New York Apollo during the summer months. After the 1977 season, he decided to move to the U.S. permanently and signed with the Apollo, winning the ASL title in 1978. In 1981 he followed former Apollo's head coach, Rodney Marsh to the Carolina Lightnin' for three seasons and won his second ASL title. In 1984 he again followed Marsh, this time to the Tampa Bay Rowdies of the NASL, but a broken leg in a friendly against Stoke City F.C. abruptly ended his season after making only one league appearance. ''U-571'' is a 2000 submarine film directed by Jonathan Mostow from a screenplay he co-wrote with Sam Montgomery and David Ayer. The film stars Matthew McConaughey, Harvey Keitel, Bill Paxton, Jon Bon Jovi, Jake Weber and Matthew Settle. The film, telling the story of a World War II German submarine boarded by American submariners to capture her Enigma cipher machine, does not represent any real events. Although the film was financially successful and reasonably well received by critics, and won the Academy Award for Best Sound Editing, the plot attracted substantial criticism. British sailors from captured the first naval Enigma machine from in the North Atlantic in May 1941, months before the United States entered the war and three years before the US Navy captured and its Enigma machine.
