David Pham
David Pham (born February 10, 1967 in South Vietnam), is a Vietnamese-American professional poker player from Bell Gardens, California with three World Series of Poker bracelets who has made seven final tables at the World Poker Tour. Early life Pham was born in South Vietnam and fled to the United States at the age of 17 in a boat carrying 145 people of which only 46 survived the journey. Once in the United States, Pham gained employment at his cousin's laundry business. His cousin is the famed professional poker player Men Nguyen, from whom Pham would learn poker and continue to do so even after Pham along with his wife had opened a nail salon in Los Angeles, California. Poker In both 2000 and 2007 Pham was named "Player of the Year" by Card Player. As of 2017, his total live tournament winnings exceed $9,850,000. The World Poker Tour (WPT) is an internationally televised gaming and entertainment brand. The 2006 World Series of Poker (WSOP) began on June 25, 2006 with satellite events, with regular play commencing on June 26 with the annual Casino Employee event, and the Tournament of Champions held on June 28 and 29. 40 more events in various disciplines including Omaha, seven-card stud and razz, plus ladies' and senior tournaments led up to the 10,000 US$ no-limit Texas hold 'em main event starting July 28 and running through the final table on August 10. The PokerStars Caribbean Adventure was an annual televised poker tournament. The event was first held in 2004 and was originally co-sponsored by PokerStars and the World Poker Tour. In 2008, the event moved from the WPT to the European Poker Tour. In 2010, the event was moved again and served as the inaugural event of the North American Poker Tour. In 2017 the tournament was the inaugural event of the new PokerStars Championship tour and renamed PokerStars Championship Bahamas. The name was changed back to the PCA for 2018 and the buy-in restored to $10,000. In 2004, the event took place on the Royal Caribbean ''Voyager of the Seas'' cruise ship. The European Poker Tour (EPT) is a series of poker tournaments similar to those in the World Poker Tour (WPT), created by John Duthie, winner of the inaugural Poker Million tournament. It began in 2004 as part of the worldwide explosion in Texas Hold 'em popularity. Since 2011 the EPT has been sponsored and wholly owned and controlled by PokerStars the online casino and taped by Sunset + Vine for television broadcast across Europe. In seasons 1-3, the most significant difference between the competing poker tours was the buy-in and its effect on the prize pool, with the EPT featuring buy-ins about half the size of the WPT. This changed in season 4 when the buy-in for most EPT events was increased to €8,000 (due to increased popularity and lack of space in participating casinos). Alan Goehring
Alan Goehring (born February 21, 1962) is an American retired junk bond analyst and trader from Henderson, Nevada. At the age of 37, he became a professional poker player. Goehring first made his mark on the poker circuit when he finished in 3rd place in the $3,000 No Limit Hold-Em event at the 1997 World Series of Poker (WSOP). He won $61,845 in the tournament, which was won by Max Stern and also featured Kathy Liebert, Chris Ferguson, Donnacha O'Dea, and Dan Harrington. In 1999, Goehring finished 2nd in the WSOP $10,000 No Limit Hold-Em Main Event to Noel Furlong. He won $768,625 for his efforts. This finish, coupled with several other 2nd-place finishes, including in Bellagio's Inaugural No Limit Hold-Em tournament, earned him a reputation as a player who "could not win the big one." Jennifer Harman
Jennifer C. Harman (born November 29, 1964) is an American professional poker player. She has won two World Series of Poker bracelets in open events, one of only four women to have done so. Career Harman won her first World Series of Poker bracelet in 2000 at the No Limit Deuce to Seven Lowball Event (at a final table that also included fellow professionals Lyle Berman and Steve Zolotow). She had never played that game prior to the event, but received a five-minute tutoring session from Howard Lederer before playing. She won her second WSOP bracelet in 2002 at the $5K Limit Texas hold 'em event (the field also included Mimi Tran, Humberto Brenes, and Allen Cunningham).
