David Peacock (American Football)
David Roscoe "Emp" Peacock (March 15, 1890 – January 28, 1944) was a college football player and coach, as well as a politician. University of Georgia Playing 1912 As a player, he was an All-Southern guard captain for the Georgia Bulldogs of the University of Georgia in 1912. An Athens newspaper said he was "probably the most aggressive lineman in the South." He weighed 185 pounds. Coaching Peacock was an assistant for the 1914 Georgia Bulldogs, leaving to get his master's degree at the University of Michigan. Eastman, Georgia
Eastman is a city in Dodge County, Georgia, United States. The population was 4,962 at the 2010 census. Named after one of the founders who contributed a site and paid for the county courthouse, the city was established in 1871, and is the county seat of Dodge County. In the 19th century, this was a center of the timber and sawmill industry. During the Great Depression in 1937, the first Stuckey's Pecan Shoppe, once well-known along roadways throughout the United States, was founded in Eastman. History The first permanent settlement of the area took place in 1840. The population continued to grow when, in 1869, a station was built for the newly constructed Macon and Brunswick Railroad which passed through the area, stimulating an economic boom. The 1914 Georgia Bulldogs football team represented the Georgia Bulldogs of the University of Georgia during the 1914 Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Association football season. The Bulldogs completed the season with a 3–5–1 record. In addition to losing four-year letterman and All-American Bob McWhorter, Georgia also lost more than ten experienced players. The inexperience showed in lopsided losses to North Carolina, Virginia and Clemson. The season ended on a positive note with a tie between Georgia and undefeated Auburn. Quarterback David Paddock was also selected as an All-American in 1914.
