At the height of his career, Nixon was the best-known magician in the UK. Early life Born in Muswell Hill, London, Nixon attended the Westcliff High School for Boys in Westcliff-on-Sea, Essex. His father was a lawyer whose hobby was magic and who took Nixon to watch performers such as Nevil Maskelyne and David Devant. One magician who made an early impression on the young boy was Stanley Collins, who had a gentlemanly image which influenced Nixon's later performing style. David Anthony Nixon is a Canadian dance choreographer. Born in Chatham, Ontario, Nixon trained at the National Ballet School of Canada and danced with the National Ballet of Canada. He joined the Deutsche Oper Ballet, in Berlin, in 1985 as a principal dancer where he won the Critics Award for Best Male Performance in 1987. Nixon's ''Liaisons'' was produced at the Hebbel Theatre in Berlin in 1990. In 1994, Nixon became Artist Director of BalletMet in Columbus, Ohio, U.S., where he created a version of Bram Stoker's '' Dracula'' and an adaptation of the fairy tale "Beauty and the Beast". During his six years with BalletMet, he added sixteen world premieres and fifteen company premieres to their repertoire. David Nixon became artistic director of Northern Ballet, Leeds, UK in 2001. David Nixon (born 9 July 1988 in Paisley, Scotland) is a Scottish defender footballer for Airdrie United. Nixon began his career with Motherwell, progressing through their youth system. In October 2007, Nixon joined Queen of the South on a three-month loan and returned to Fir Park in January 2008. Nixon joined Airdrie United in July 2008. Nixon was part of the Airdrie United side who put Hearts out of the CIS Insurance Cup in 2008. After a stunning performance he won the 'Man Of The Match' award.
