David Nakdimen
Dave Nakdimen (June 28, 1933May 8, 2020) was an American broadcast journalist, and the political reporter for Louisville's WAVE 3 (TV) News. Nakdimen covered many major stories in Louisville during his long career. He was elected to the Kentucky Journalism Hall of Fame in 1998. Biography David Abie Nakdimen was born in Rocky Station, Lee County, Virginia on June 28, 1933, the second of Lucy (née Steelman) and Abe Nakdimen's four children. Education and early journalism career Nakdimen graduated from London High School in London, Kentucky. In the 1950s, Nakdimen attended the University of Kentucky as a Journalism student, where he performed research, collecting folklore in 1954 for William Hugh Jansen. Jansen had received the third Doctorate in Folklore in the United States from the Indiana University and was a member of the faculty of the University of Kentucky English Department from 1949 to 1979. Louisville, Kentucky
Louisville ( , , ) is the largest city in the Commonwealth of Kentucky and the 28th most-populous city in the United States. Walter Frederick "Fritz" Mondale (January 5, 1928 – April 19, 2021) was an American lawyer and politician who served as the 42nd vice president of the United States from 1977 to 1981 under President Jimmy Carter. Walter Darlington "Dee" Huddleston (April 15, 1926 – October 16, 2018) was an American politician. He was a Democrat from Kentucky who represented the state in the United States Senate from 1973 until 1985. Huddleston lost his 1984 Senate re-election campaign to Mitch McConnell in an upset by 5269 votes. Early life Huddleston was born in Burkesville, Kentucky. After he graduated from high school, he enlisted in the United States Army and served as a tank gunner in Europe during and after World War II from 1944 to 1946. Bob Gable
Robert Elledy Gable (born February 20, 1934) is an American businessman from Frankfort, who was the Kentucky Republican gubernatorial nominee in 1975. Gable lost to the incumbent Democratic Governor Julian Carroll. Carroll received 470,159 votes (62.8 percent) to Gable's 277,998 (37.2 percent). In 1995, Gable again sought the governor's office but lost by a large margin in the Republican primary. With Shirley W. Palmer-Ball, his 1975 running mate reprising that role, Gable lost the primary with 17,054 votes (14.5 percent) to Larry Forgy and Tom Handy's 97,099 votes (82.4 percent). Julian Morton Carroll (born April 16, 1931) is an American lawyer and politician from the state of Kentucky. A Democrat, he served as the 54th Governor of Kentucky from 1974 to 1979, succeeding Wendell H. Ford, who resigned to accept a seat in the U.S. Senate. He was most recently a member of the Kentucky Senate, representing Anderson, Franklin, Woodford, Gallatin and Owen counties. He was the first Kentucky governor from the state's far-western Jackson Purchase region.
