David Mitchell (cricketer)
David Alexander Mitchell (born 20 February 1980) is a former English cricketer. Mitchell is a left-handed batsman who bowls right-arm medium-fast. He was born at Carshalton, Surrey. Mitchell played a single List A match for Devon in the 2nd round of the 2003 Cheltenham & Gloucester Trophy against Cumberland which was played in 2002 at The Maer Ground in Exmouth. He scored 10 runs in the match before being dismissed by Marcus Sharp. With the ball he bowled two wicketless overs. Carshalton
Carshalton () is a town, with a historic village centre, in south London, England, within the London Borough of Sutton. It is situated south-southwest of Charing Cross, in the valley of the River Wandle, one of the sources of which is Carshalton Ponds in the middle of the village. Prior to the creation of Greater London in 1965, Carshalton was in the administrative county of Surrey. Carshalton consists of a number of neighbourhoods. The main focal point, Carshalton Village, is visually scenic and picturesque. At its centre it has two adjoining ponds, which are overlooked by the Grade II listed All Saints Church on the south side and the Victorian Grove Park on the north side. The Maer Ground
The Maer Ground is a cricket ground in Exmouth, Devon. It is the home ground of Exmouth Cricket Club and is also used regularly by Devon County Cricket Club. The first recorded match played on the ground was in 1874 when Devon played Will-o'-the-Wisp. From 1883 to 1889 the ground played host to eight matches between Devon and the Marylebone Cricket Club. In 1951, the Maer hosted Devon's first Minor Counties Championship match against Berkshire, and has since played host to 49 Minor Counties Championship matches. The ground played host to a Women's One Day International between England and New Zealand in the 1973 Women's World Cup. In 1986, it hosted its first List A match in the 1986 NatWest Trophy between Devon and Nottinghamshire, which Devon lost by 59 runs. Cricket is a bat-and-ball game played between two teams of eleven players on a field at the centre of which is a pitch with a wicket at each end, each comprising two bails balanced on three stumps.
