David McFadden (poet)
David William McFadden (October 11, 1940 – June 6, 2018) was a Canadian poet, fiction writer, and travel writer. Biography McFadden was born in Hamilton, Ontario, and began writing poetry while still in high school, publishing in literary magazines, corresponding with beat writer Jack Kerouac, and becoming a proofreader for the ''Hamilton Spectator'' newspaper. As he gained success as a poet he quit the newspaper devoting himself full-time to literature in 1976. McFadden served on the editorial board of Coach House Press, and as a contributing editor for ''SwiftCurrent'' and ''Canadian Art Magazine''. He was a monthly columnist for ''Quill and Quire'' and ''Hamilton This Month''. He taught at David Thompson University Centre for three years and was a member of the production team of the literary journal ''Brick''. David Henry McFadden
David Henry McFadden (February 17, 1856 – February 21, 1935) was a politician in Manitoba, Canada. He served in the Legislative Assembly of Manitoba from 1892 to 1907, and again from 1910 to 1915. McFadden was a Conservative, and served as a cabinet minister in the governments of Hugh John Macdonald and Rodmond Roblin. McFadden was born in Peterborough, Canada West (now Ontario), and educated in Bruce, Ontario. He received certification from the Ontario Veterinary College and practised as a veterinary surgeon. He also served as manager of the Alexandra Realty Co. in Emerson, Manitoba, and was active in municipal politics. In religion, McFadden was a Methodist. He was first elected to the Manitoba legislature in the 1892 provincial election, defeating Liberal incumbent James Thomson by fourteen votes in the Emerson constituency. David James McFadden
David James McFadden (born December 7, 1945) is a lawyer and former politician in Ontario, Canada. He was a Progressive Conservative Party member of the Legislative Assembly of Ontario from 1985 to 1987 who represented the midtown Toronto riding of Eglinton. Background McFadden was born in Thunder Bay. He was educated at the University of Toronto, and at the Osgoode Hall Law School at York University. After graduation, he became a partner in the Toronto law firm of McFadden, Marrocco and Parker. He served as vice-president of the Ontario Progressive Conservative Association from 1968 to 1980, and as president from 1980 to 1986. He helped to rebuild the party's grassroots organization in the mid-1970s, and chaired both of the party's leadership conventions in 1985.
