David Mayhew (banker)
David Lionel Mayhew CBE (born May 1940) is a British banker, chairman of JP Morgan Cazenove until 2011. Early life David Lionel Mayhew was born in May 1940. He was educated at Eton, and left with 4 O levels. Career Mayhew joined the merchant bank Cazenove as a partner in 1968, and worked there for more than 40 years. On standing down as chairman of JP Morgan Cazenove in November 2011, the ''New York Times'' called him "one of Britain’s most respected bankers". Mayhew subsequently became a vice chairman of global investment banking for JPMorgan Chase. He was appointed CBE in the 2011 Birthday Honours. Personal life Mayhew is married to Ginny, a former model, they have three children, and live in Hampshire. He collects art, and is a member of Boodle's and the City of London club. J.P. Morgan & Co. is a Commercial banking, commercial and investment banking institution founded by J. P. Morgan in 1871. Through a series of mergers and acquisitions, the company is now a subsidiary of JPMorgan Chase, one of the largest banking institutions in the world. Order Of The British Empire
The Most Excellent Order of the British Empire is a British order of chivalry, rewarding contributions to the arts and sciences, work with charitable and welfare organisations, and public service outside the civil service. It was established on 4 June 1917 by King George V and comprises five classes across both civil and military divisions, the most senior two of which make the recipient either a knight if male or dame if female. There is also the related British Empire Medal, whose recipients are affiliated with, but not members of, the order. O Level
The O-Level (Ordinary Level) is a subject-based qualification conferred as part of the General Certificate of Education. It was introduced in place of the School Certificate in 1951 as part of an educational reform alongside the more in-depth and academically rigorous A-Level (Advanced Level) in England, Wales and Northern Ireland. Cazenove (stock Broker)
Cazenove was a British stockbroker and investment bank, founded in 1823 by Philip Cazenove. It was one of the UK's last independent investment banks and one of the last to remain a private partnership. The main parts of the business were acquired by JPMorgan Chase in 2009 with the remains being sold to other financial institutions. The Partnership was well known for its 'blue-blooded' reputation and its complete aversion to publicity.
