David Long (New Zealand Musician)
David Long is a musician, composer and producer. In 2020 he won best score at the APRA Silver Scrolls for the BBC drama series, The Luminaries. He composes mainly for film and television but also contemporary dance. He has worked on all of Peter Jackson’s films of the last two decades. He performs with two bands, The Labcoats (two albums) and Teeth (one album). In 2021 he composed the score for the feature film, Punch and a dance show for Tupua Tugafua as well as composing for two more series of Mystic. In late 2021 he is releasing an album for small ensemble. In 2020 he composed (with Steve Gallagher) the score for the CBBC series, Mystic. He also composed for Sean MacDonald's dance show Ngā Wai for Atamira Dance Company. In 2019 he composed the score for the BBC drama series The Luminaries and also the second series of the children's TV series Kiddets. Dave Long (runner)
David Long (born 21 November 1960 in Coventry) is a former long-distance runner from Great Britain. His personal best in the marathon is 2:10:30, achieved when finishing fourth in the 1991 London Marathon. He represented Great Britain in the men's marathon at the 1988 Summer Olympics in Seoul, South Korea, finishing in 21st position with a time of 2:16:18. Four years later at the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona, Spain he finished in 39th place (2:20.51) in the men's race. On the circuit, he won the 20 km of Brussels in 1992 – being the first Briton to do so. David Long Jr. (born February 6, 1998) is an American football cornerback for the Las Vegas Raiders of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at Michigan. David Martin Long
David Martin Long (July 15, 1953 – December 8, 1999) was an American murderer executed by lethal injection in Texas for the stabbing deaths of three women, and later confessed his involvement in seven murders. His case received media attention after he was placed on life support for a drug overdose two days before his scheduled execution. ''The New York Times'' said that the medical personnel who treated Long "found themselves in the odd situation of trying to restore to good health a man with only two days left to live." A native of Texas, Long grew up mostly in California. He started drinking alcohol at age 12, was sent to a reformatory around that time, and spent many years addicted to drugs. In 1986, Long confessed to killing three women in Lancaster, Texas; he was convicted of capital murder and sent to death row.
