David Lloyd (broadcaster)
David Lloyd is an English radio presenter and a former radio executive. Biography Lloyd began his radio career in December 1977 on Nottingham Hospitals' Radio, from which he had previously been turned away for being too young. He joined Radio Trent in 1980. At Trent, Lloyd presented the weekday afternoon show, and later, the mid-morning show, after Dale Winton left the station. Following a spell in junior management as Presentation Co-Ordinator, he then moved to Leicester Sound as Deputy Programme Controller in 1987 and subsequently as General Manager. During this time, Lloyd also presented the weekday morning show and was its programme controller. In 1988, he oversaw the split of the FM and AM frequencies which saw Leicester Sound's AM signal switch to the new GEM AM service, and FM remain as Leicester Sound, albeit under the name of 'Sound FM'. Absolute Radio is a British National radio station owned and operated by Bauer as part of the Absolute Radio Network. It broadcasts nationally across the UK via Digital audio broadcasting and on 1215 kHz MW. Boom Radio
Boom Radio (also Boom Radio UK) is an independent, commercial, national radio station in the United Kingdom. Owned by Boom Radio Ltd, the station is aimed at baby boomers, the generation of people born between 1946 and 1964, and is the first radio station in the UK to specifically target this age demographic. Launched on 14 February 2021, Boom Radio broadcasts nationally on the Sound Digital DAB multiplex and is also available online. Orion Media was a UK commercial radio group, founded in 2009 after a management buy-in, with backing from Lloyds Development Capital. It was created from the enforced sale of several radio stations in the English Midlands previously owned by Global Radio. In May 2016, the company was sold to Bauer Media Group.
