David Leckie
David John Leckie (4 May 195120 July 2021) was an Australian media manager, best known as a network television executive. Leckie was he the chief executive officer of the Network Nine between 1990 and 2001 and Seven West Media from 2003 to 2012. Afterwards he was for four years an executive director at Seven Group Holdings, which holds investments in Seven West, earthmoving company WesTrac and the Agricultural Bank of China. Early life and education Leckie was born in Sydney on 4 May 1951. His father, Ron, was head of the transport division at Unilever; his mother was Joyce. He was their first child, and he had two brothers, Stuart and Ian. Leckie was raised on the North Shore, and attended Newington College from 1962 to 1968. TCN9
TCN is the flagship television station of the Nine Network in Australia. The station is currently located at 1 Denison Street, North Sydney. The licence, issued to a company named Television Corporation Ltd headed by Sir Frank Packer, was one of the first four licences (two in Sydney, two in Melbourne) to be issued for commercial television stations in Australia. TCN-9 is the home of the NRL coverage and national-level Nine News bulletins. History TCN began broadcasting on 16 September 1956, and became the first station in Australia to begin regular transmissions. James Warburton (Australian Businessman)
James Warburton (born 1970) is an Australian businessman who is currently Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Seven West Media. Business career Television executive Warburton had early executive roles at McCann-Erickson, DDB Worldwide and Hyundai Motor Company in the 1980s and 1990s. Warburton became Managing Director of Universal McCann in 2000, winning and retaining multiple significant government and corporate contracts over the following three years. In 2003, Warburton took on his first role in the television industry, becoming sales director of the Seven Network. In 2011, Warburton was poached by Acting CEO Lachlan Murdoch to become CEO of the Ten Network. Seven launched a legal challenge to the defection and the Supreme Court of New South Wales ruled that Warburton could not start at Ten until 1 January 2012, five months later than scheduled. OzTAM
OzTAM is an Australian audience measurement research firm that collects and markets television ratings data. It is jointly owned by the Seven Network, the Nine Network and Network Ten, and is the official source of television ratings data for all metropolitan television in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth as well as subscription services (such as Foxtel) on a national basis. OzTAM was created in 1999 after the Seven and Ten Networks led a call for a re-tendering of the contract to provide audience ratings. Executives from both networks were concerned that the previous ratings service did not accurately reflect viewing levels for their channels.
